I met Professor Ben Miranda at the Spire Wellesley hospital in Essex. He was very approachable and I felt comfortable explaining my condition to him. He showed genuine interest and we discussed my options. I was booked in for surgery very quickly and the communication from his office was prompt and concise. On the day of surgery I felt completely at ease. We discussed the procedure again and I was excited to start! We chatted throughout the procedure, it all felt very calm. Before I left the hospital, I knew about the aftercare, what to expect in terms of recovery duration and my follow up appointments were all booked in. The whole experience was so much easier than I thought it would be, it's been a total pleasure being in Professor Miranda's care, I genuinely couldn't be happier with this whole process. Would highly recommend him for your surgery, he's not just a great surgeon, he's a very warm and considerate man.

I have been so pleased with my experience of surgery by Dr Shilen Patel. At the first consultation he explained very clearly and in detail what my operation would entail and the possible risks, but without scaring me. This gave me a lot of confidence for the day of the operation, and the surgery went very well. When dressings were removed 10 days after my operation I was really surprised to see how neat the wound was, and it was healing nicely. I had very little pain, and Mr Patel explained to me at my follow up appointment that the tumour had been removed fully without rupturing, so there is very little chance of it returning. He had also explained how they had worked to ensure they did not damage a nearby nerve which I had been so relieved about. In conclusion, I was very pleased with the overall treatment received and with the care and respect I was shown. Thank you.

Bilateral cataract surgery – an excellent experience from start to finish. The improvement in my vision has been remarkable—not only is everything much clearer, but my previous short-sightedness and astigmatism have also been fully corrected. Night driving, which was previously very difficult and something I had to restrict significantly, is now effortless. My distance and intermediate vision are pin-sharp. From the outset, Mr Gudsoorkar explained clearly that my eyes were not suitable for lenses providing reading vision, and that I would still require reading glasses. He reassured me that inexpensive off-the-shelf reading glasses would be perfectly adequate, which has saved me over £400 a year compared to my previous prescription glasses. I’m extremely pleased with both the outcome and the care I received throughout.

This was my second visit to this hospital,and as it was on the 1st visit,I can only add praise on the staff,nurses consultants,seating area with coffee machine,the receptionist was so polite and helpful as well as being friendly and smiling.It was comfortably warm on a cold day,always a nervous person even for an xray.but left the hospital with all the information I needed,and feeling calm and confident on my visit. I had trouble releasing urine, as well as blood being present in the urine. Blood would still come out after urination. A stricture in my urethra was the reason for my discomfort. Mr Varun Sahdev was able to determine that and propose various procedure options. After the operation, all my discomfort gradually disappeared, with a very significant change right after the operation.
