I had a very good experience with Visio Health when I had recent laser treatment following cataract surgery on both eyes with Ms Sandhu. The cataract surgery, which took place in hospital in July and October, has been very successful. I no longer need glasses after having vision corrective lenses. And I hadn’t realised quite how blurred and sepia my sight had become. My vision is now very clear and bright. It really has positively impacted my life. Everything looks like it did back when I was young. It’s so much more cheerful than that blurry, yellow sight that I had grown so used to. And I am so much more confident when driving. No more night glare. I was really apprehensive and anxious about cataract surgery. So much so that it was decided that I would have the procedure under general anaesthetic. But I can honestly say that despite all the worry the end result is better than I could have imagined. The laser treatment at Visio to improve my sight further with one session of laser treatment was totally painless, very straightforward and uncomplicated. The clinic was very well organised and the staff were all lovely. A very good experience.

Thames View at Charing Cross Hospital

I actually did not get to use the facilities in the private wing of Charing Cross Hospital, as I was seen in neurophysiology on level three of the NHS departments. The only time I had to go up to the 15th floor was to get two forms, stamped and provide my pre-authorisation number that meant getting in a crowded lift and riding up to the 15th floor, which took a very long time as the lift stopped on nearly every floor. Then I had to go back down to level three for tests. It was actually quite stressful for someone with my health conditions to do this, and to be expected to do this administration as the patient!. The waiting area in the NHS department was not relaxing, it was very hot, no natural light was had limited/poor ventilation and the receptionist was quite rude. The medical staff were more polite. When I pay for private healthcare, I prefer to stay in the private department than in the crowded NHS areas. I gather on this occasion the tests were not available in the private wing, but perhaps another hospital where the consultant worked would’ve been able to accommodate. I was not informed that the tests would be in the NHS department.

I previously saw Mr Humphrey over 4 years ago for an unrelated foot problem, and was advised to avoid surgery which has proved to be excellent advice. After recently suffering a ruptured Achilles I saw him again knowing he would not recommend surgery unless he felt it absolutely necessary. He was thorough, examining me and arranging necessary scans and a more suitable boot, as well as making sure I took blood thinners for a further 4 weeks to guard against DVT’s. (Apparently he has written papers on this topic) . He explained the conservative treatment he proposed going forward, with clear timelines and outlined there were further surgical options available later down the line if my Achilles didn’t heal in the optimum way. Mr Humphrey was very approachable and I felt he had my best interests at heart. I would definitely recommend him to anyone experiencing problems with their foot or ankle. My husband was so impressed he decided to see Mr Humphrey himself for a long standing ankle issue.

After the first right eye cataract removal Mazen Tahhan gave me his telephone number and said to call him if I had a problem. I am a very keen insect photographer and found with the distance lens I could not see the camera screen clearly. I became worried about the impact on my ability to focus close up on insects. About 8 p.m. I sent him a text briefly outlining my concerns . He called me back immediately and listened carefully. I was even considering other options than the NHS lens and he kindly sent details of these. However he advised me to I stay with a close-up NHS lens to get as much light into the eye as possible. I followed his advice and am very pleased and very satisfied with the result. Sabina George

Steve is excellent. Personable and very professional and clearly knows his stuff. He operated on our son following a shoulder dislocation playing rugby. Throughout the process, Steve was clear with the surgical options and very thorough in his explanations, particularly understanding with the emotions of a teenager and his desperation to be back on the pitch again. He has a friendly manner and was always quick to answer extra questions we had between consultations. He did an excellent surgical job on our son and we’d have no hesitation in recommending him. Dr Srikantha is a sincere, honest, and fundamentally integrity-driven specialist. Her conduct during the consultation and her bedside manner is among some of the best I have experienced (as someone with a complex medical profile , I have seen a number of specialists!). It is not common, if not rare, for someone with my clinical profile to receive a letter that articulates details with such accuracy and shows active listening to matters of concern to me. Dr Srikantha is gracious, humble, but most importantly deeply human in her approach - these are traits that sometimes feel absent from clinical care.

This was my second cataract operation on my left eye having had a very successful cataract removal and lenses replacement on my right eye performed by Mr Sian a couple of months earlier at Musgrove Park. Mr Sian’s skills , patience and care are exemplary. The outcome hss exceeded all my expectations. For information I initially saw Mr Sian at the Nuffield and had my resulting procedures at Musgrove Park due to the complexity of both eyes. My comments apply mainly to Musgrove although are also applicable to treatment received by Mr Sian at the Nuffield Taunton.

Had an amazing experience very understanding very compassionate as a doctor sometimes you can feel very nervous around doctors but he always makes you feel like ease and the process is so easy and relaxing considering I don’t like needles I would highly recommend this Dr to anyone especially with anxiety or not too sure forward with anything to do with injection I would definitely recommend him good eye doctor and always leaves you with reassurance and confident before leaving the hospital. I think the Doctors Lounge is such a great personal investment. You are able to see a doctor quickly, they have all your notes in front of them and have excellent referal doctors should you need further support. I cannot recomend Dr. Nik Chopra and his team more highly. It also means you take pressure off your local GP who can then spend their time with patients who need to use the NHS service. Think outstanding service and value for money.

After failing to get an appointment with my GP, my Daughter made an appointment for me at WLC , within a couple of hours of phoning I was seen by the lovely Dr. York. She identified me having a chest infection, and reduced power in my lungs . Collected prescription from chemist. At 82 , I think I would have ended up in hospital had it not seen this Doctor. Amazing service Now a day later feeling much better. 😎

Under the care of Mr Sunildath Cazabon on the 13th January 2026 I underwent laser vision corrective procedure for posterior capsule opacification following prior cataract surgery. A full series of tests was preformed before procedure. The procedure was completed successfully without any complications in under 15 minutes and a positive experience from start to finish with immediate improvement to my vision.
