Mr Dimitrios Miligkos has been a Consultant Obstetrician and Gynaecologist in Southampton since 2014. Mr Miligkos performs advanced laparoscopic (keyhole) surgery and operative hysteroscopy and his areas of expertise are minimal access surgery and treatment of deep endometriosis, pelvic pain, menstrual disorders and hormone replacement therapy (HRT). He also undertakes colposcopy, management of abnormal smears and vulval skin disorders.
Mr Miligkos has wide surgical experience in laparoscopic hysterectomy (total, subtotal), laparoscopic excision of deep endometriosis and adnexal surgery, laparoscopic myomectomy, operative hysteroscopy, reproductive surgery, colposcopy and LLETZ.
He is the Clinical Lead for Gynaecology and Outpatient Hysteroscopy and has led the development of a new ambulatory gynaecology suite in Princess Anne Hospital, Southampton.
Mr Miligkos has multiple research articles published in peer-reviewed medical journals and he participates in multi-centre medical research studies. He is passionate about continuing to progress medical care to the highest levels, caring for and treating women with the best possible treatment wherever possible.

Mr Miligkos took excellent care of me. My operation went smoothly. I was well looked after from the beginning of the process right through to the end. He explained everything clearly and was reassuring.

Mr Miligkos listened to my concerns, gave practical advice, and was able to administer treatment for my issues very quickly. After years of feeling like I was being ignored and being 'too sensitive', Dr Miligkos finally helped me get diagnosis and treatment I needed. Him and the hospital/clinic staff were all polite, understanding and easy to talk to/contact.

Mr Miligkos was kind and understanding throughout my consultation and operation. I had requested to go private after having waited over 6 months, with no success, for my operation on the NHS. I felt a bit embarrassed about this but Mr Miligkos was very supportive. I had actually seen Mr Miligkos during my NHS reviews so it was nice that he already knew my case. On the day of the operation Mr Milogkos saw me before and afterwards which was very reassuring. Everything went to plan and I am very glad I took his diagnosis and treatment plan.

A friendly man who gives confidence as he speaks. He explains simply and clearly and made sure I understood exactly what he was going to do and exactly what I had to do in recovery. I felt I could ask anything at all even if I thought it might be silly. Very lucky to have been in his care.
