Overall, the treatment process was well organised, the staff were helpful, and all my appointments went smoothly. Sadly, the final stage of my treatment turned into an extremely distressing experience that overshadowed everything that had gone well before. When complications arose just before a bank holiday weekend, I was left without the clinical guidance and support I desperately needed. I spent hours in A&E, trying to understand my situation, and ultimately had to use ChatGPT to interpret my own blood test results before deciding to discharge myself. Feeling so alone and unsupported at such a vulnerable time was deeply upsetting. I understood the risks of IVF and accept that treatment does not always succeed. My disappointment is not about the outcome, but about how I was treated when things went wrong. Unfortunately, the response to my formal complaint did not restore my trust, and I no longer felt able to continue with Bourn Hall. Fertility treatment is already emotionally exhausting; patients should never feel abandoned when they need support the most.

We’ve been having ivf treatment at Bourn hall with appointments at both Cambridge and Norwich. Staff are friendly and professional and we would recommend them for anyone seeking fertility treatment.

The nutritional advice session I had with Angela was excellent and really helped me understand what is needed to be healthy and make those all important healthy lifestyle choices with food and exercise. The information given was clear and she answered the questions I had at this particular time in our journey. Thank you.

It was an absolute pleasure meeting Angela, who was so friendly and provided us with some truly awesome information that we didn't know before. We have been using captions during our chat since we are deaf—it went really smoothly and made the session so accessible. Thanks to her insights, we feel much more confident about taking the next steps to improve our fertility.

Bourn Hall are very supportive.

It was a very hard journey for me and my partner at the time. All the staff gave me so much hope for my future if it wasn’t for them I would of gave up. I had 3 transfers as I had loses on the way but I never gave up. Now we have are beautiful 5 month baby boy and 4 embryos waiting for us. Thankyou so much I will forever be thankful for giving me my special boy. I always speak highly how wonderful bournhall is and looking forward to seeing you all again. Love myself and lul 🩵

Angela was very informative and kind. She spoke to us both in regard to nutrition and supplements which will support pregnancy. Very grateful for her time and the recommendation she has sent following our call. Done remotely which was ideal and we both felt really comfortable throughout the appointment.

From referral to having our first appointment was only a couple of months. The doctor at initial consultation was very thorough and gave us confidence with the plan put in place. Having a uterine abnormality made me very nervous but the whole team put me at ease from the first appointment through scans, and mock transfers to the real thing. Everyone involved kept us inform and were very kind. They even kept in contact after to ask how the pregnancy had progressed. Without them all we wouldnt have our beautiful daughter.
