Dr Arpita Ray is a specialist Obstetrician & Gynaecologist at Bourn Hall Fertility Clinic. After working and gaining experience in India, Dr Ray joined the NHS in 2002 with a wealth of experience in the field. She is a registered specialist on the General Medical Council and is a recognised trainer of the British Fertility Society for assisted fertility. She obtained her primary medical degree from Calcutta in 1995.
Dr Ray has an extensive research background in polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS) and unexplained infertility, having worked closely with Professor Roy Homburg - one of the top figures in reproductive medicine and IVF. Additionally, she has a special interest in recurrent miscarriage and was awarded the MRCOG (Member of the Royal College of Obstetrics and Gynaecology) in 2004 for her work surrounding this. Since 2012, Dr Ray has been serving as an NHS consultant and she joined Bourn Hall Clinic as a Lead Clinician in 2015.
Dr Ray has been a Regional Lead Clinician for both of the Bourn Hall Essex clinics, in Colchester and Wickford since 2017. She has recently received an Honorary professorship from New Vision University in Georgia for her work in fertility and reproductive medicine.
As a consultant, Dr Ray says she feels honoured to be helping people fulfil their desires and expand their families. She is dedicated to her work and understands the difference it makes to people's lives.
