About The Day Clinic
The Day Clinic is an expert-led private medical centre located in Shelford Bottom, Cambridge. It offers rapid access to diagnosis and treatment for a wide range of common health conditions within a modern outpatient setting. Founded by Consultant Plastic Surgeon Mr Ahid Abood, the clinic brings together specialists across dermatology, plastic surgery, hand surgery, urology and general practice.
The purpose-built facility includes contemporary consulting rooms and two fully equipped operating theatres where minor surgical and day-case procedures are carried out. Services cover comprehensive dermatological care, including assessments, cryotherapy, electrosurgery, curettage, shave excision, punch biopsy and Mohs surgery, alongside plastic surgery procedures such as blepharoplasty, earlobe repair, inverted nipple surgery and reconstruction following skin cancer. The clinic also provides hand surgery for conditions such as carpal tunnel syndrome, Dupuytren’s contracture and trigger finger, as well as urological services including flexible cystoscopy, vasectomy, circumcision, PSA testing and urine investigations. A private GP service is additionally available for general medical concerns.

Everything from the staff to the Surgeon and the clinic's environment ensured that I had a pain and stress free experience.
To be completely honest, I feel like the appointment felt very rushed. From them running late to the appointment, to the time I was in there, I didn't feel the price of £300 made sense for the service given. Prior to the consultation, I had made thorough notes about my skin history, including previous diagnoses from my regular GP. I feel this actually did me a disservice, as much of what I'd written was simply reiterated back to me. Although I attended because of what I now know to be a significant worsening of my previously diagnosed perioral dermatitis, the examination of my skin lasted around two minutes. I was also disappointed by the lack of practical advice. I asked for recommendations regarding cleansers and moisturisers but wasn't given any. Instead, I was given very broad advice around things such as steroid use and cosmetics, neither of which were relevant to me or my current routine. Nothing was written down, and I left with no notes or clear guidance beyond a "don't wash your face" instruction and a prescription. For a £300 specialist dermatology consultation, I expected a much more thorough examination of my whole facial area and personalised advice, and unfortunately I left feeling disappointed with the experience.
I can't commend Dr Abood and Rachael his senior nurse and Jane on reception enough. Absolutely brilliant team. Also my upper blepharoplasty was brilliant...still healing so waiting for puffiness to go down but I'm only two weeks post op. I had local anaesthetic which was fine.
On arrival you are greeted with a welcoming smile and warm and friendly staff. Offered tea and coffee and water. Mr Abood was always ready on time

The doctor and staff were all very friendly, clinic feels relaxed but very competent.
I was seen immediately upon arrival. The staff was friendly, and I think I got great advice from the GP.
