Dr Ayshini Samarasinghe

Miss Ayshini Samarasinghe is a Consultant Obstetrician and Gynaecologist who graduated from Imperial College London and completed seven years of specialist training within the East of England Deanery. She currently practices at Peterborough City Hospital, where she also serves as College Tutor, overseeing the education, training, and professional development of specialty trainees and junior doctors within the department. 

She is a co-founder of Cambridge Reproductive and Gynaecological Care (CRGC Stamford). CRGC is a specialist private gynaecology and fertility clinic providing expert diagnosis, treatment and personalised care for a wide range of women’s health conditions through both face-to-face and virtual consultations. Along side this she also practices at Spire Cambridge Lea Hospital, Bourn Hall Fertility Clinic, and North West Anglia NHS Foundation Trust.

In addition to her clinical and educational responsibilities, Miss Samarasinghe is the Colposcopy Lead for her service, where she is responsible for supporting clinical governance, maintaining quality standards, and overseeing the delivery of cervical screening, colposcopy, and cervical disease management in accordance with national guidelines and best practice standards.

Her clinical practice encompasses a broad range of obstetric and gynaecological care, with particular interests in minimal access surgery, reproductive medicine, PMOS, and recurrent miscarriage. She adopts a holistic approach to women's health, considering the physical, hormonal, and emotional aspects of care when assessing and managing patients.

Miss Samarasinghe has a strong interest in medical education and has completed a specialised Fellowship in Blended Learning, which has enhanced her expertise in contemporary teaching methods, curriculum development, and trainee support.

As part of her comprehensive gynaecological practice, Miss Samarasinghe also has a particular interest in the assessment and management of vulval conditions and chronic pelvic pain. She provides evidence-based care for women experiencing complex symptoms, working to establish accurate diagnoses and develop individualised management plans tailored to each patient's clinical needs.
