Over the years I have had numerous operation procedures and this was the first by James Young. He explained everything, from the advantages to the pitfalls. I would thoroughly recommend him to anybody requiring a total knee replacement

I had a great overall experience with Mr Young. He was very clear in what would be happening with my surgery and made me feel confident it would all go well. He also gave me very clear instructions on what to do post op to make sure my knee healed properly. He was always very polite and a pleasure to have consultations with before and post surgery.

James has been great with my son Max, supportive as well and being clear about what Max needed doing

James was very aware of my needs and wants and offered a real solution that avoided knee replacement. Extremely calm and composed and clearly expert in his field. I felt at ease and this was a reason why I wanted him to again remove metalwork. I must also commend his secretary Tess for her efficiency.

From my initial consultation through to my 6 week post operation consultation I found Mr Young to be very professional. His operative skills second to none. Along with his theatre team, who were also top of their game, I was made to feel at ease before the op. Now at 1 weeks since the operation the scaring is hardly noticeable, I'd have to give Mr Young 10 out of 10 for needlework :). As to the knee itself things are gradually getting back to normal.

Mr Young was very sympathetic when I came to see him, he explained fully what he planned to do with my knee, making me feel at ease, He told me about the pain I would experience and the outcome which has proved to be spot on

Made me very assured that the operation was exactly what was needed and pulled no punches on what to expect in the recovery process which is long and sometimes painful and demoralising but I knew what to expect
