About
Dr Saqib Chowdhary, Consultant Cardiologist and Coronary Intervention Specialist, is based at Wythenshawe Hospital, in Manchester. He is highly skilled in performing complex procedures like radial access procedures, chronic total occlusions (CTO), the use of intra-coronary imaging (IVUS and OCT) to improve outcomes from stenting, and transcutaneous septal ablation for the treatment of hypertrophic cardiomyopathy.
He began his medical education at St Thomas's where he graduated in Medicine. He also received training in cardiology and coronary intervention at the University Hospital Birmingham NHS Trust, Walsgrave Hospital, and abroad in Toronto. He was later awarded a PhD for his work in medicine and a year later was awarded the prize of Young Investigator of the Year by the British Cardiac Society. He was given a prestigious fellowship at Toronto General and Mount Sinai Hospitals.
He Has an extensive research past, with numerous publications on nitric oxide, cardiac autonomic dysfunction, and heart failure. He continues to contribute to medical education working as a clinical SpR and as a Clinical Lecturer.

I have seen Dr Chowdhary twice now, and will be having a third consultation at the bet of July - I had originally been scheduled for a heart by pass, but this was postponed due to coronavirus. I saw Dr Chowdhary after a recommendation by a friend. He was very pleasant and relaxed, and asked me for details of my symptoms, and he also carried out a number of tests. His manner at all times was very pleasant, and I asked him if I could possibly stay on tablets rather than have the operation. He advised me that he would meet with my surgeon and review everything with him. A few weeks later he contacted me and arranged a further meeting, where he advised me that bit was a borderline case, and I could choose either route. I decided to stay with the tablets, and after a couple of adjustments to the dosage I have been much better. Dr Chowdhary makes you fell relaxed and confident and I would not hesitate to recommend him.
