Had a very warm welcoming at Abbington house, staff and peers were very nice. Room was nice, quite overwhelming to start with, with it being my first time at rehab. I then started to feel more comfortable with the help of the staff and my peers, putting me out of my comfort zone probably was the best thing they could of done otherwise I wouldn’t of been so open. Staff very accommodating, my therapist was very empathetic, I got on with her very well, opened up slowly but eventually we got there. I still feel I have stuff to work on, my co dependency and self love but I know that will come in time, from outside sources, just think they should not of mentioned that I would be getting DBT therapy whilst I was here as that was one of the selling points to me coming to Abbington house. The only other down side was prior to coming in I was told I would have at least one, one to one a week. But that did not happen for the the first 3 weeks, so felt a bit let down, so did my parents which they then raised there concerned to Mikey, who was quick to come up with 2 options to compensate this, which I thought was very good.

From the moment I walked in, I was genuinely blown away by the presentation of the office. The space was immaculate, modern, and thoughtfully designed to create a calming and welcoming atmosphere, which immediately put me at ease. The staff were exceptionally professional, greeting me with warm smiles and efficient, courteous service, setting a tone of respect and competence from the very beginning. What truly stood out was the profound care and concern shown for my well-being. The doctor took the time to listen intently to my concerns, asked detailed questions to fully understand my condition, and explained everything with clarity and compassion, making me feel genuinely heard and valued. I was struck by Dr Hawkes attention to detail. The sutures were so exquisite that after 5 months a fellow plastic surgeon from across the desk could not see I had any work done. One thing to note is the limit of surgery on the day, I was the only one that day to be operated on as Dr Hawkes will only operate on a maximum number of 'eyes' ...... It so happened that the surgeon in the next theatre did seven patients (yes seven!). I was also reassured that given the post procedure settlement (upper and lower) Dr Hawkes asked to see me after 6 months........ Needless to say after six months I could not be happier with the result on both eyes, age appropriate (as asked for) with exquisite detail and in the words of my granddaughter 'they are beautiful'.... I will leave you with an amusing anecdote.....on the morning of the operation I asked for Dr Hawkes to hold her arm out just for fun and you know what it did not flinch .... steady as a rock.... a great result from a lovely lady... thanks again Elizabeth....

Dr James Good

I was referred to James in July 2024 and currently still under his care as I have ongoing chemotherapy and immunotherapy for colorectal cancer with mets to my liver. James has been very honest and open with me from day one and not promised a "magic cure" to my disease but instead a realistic approach to extending my life as long as possible. He is open to any questions I have had and considered everything I suggest and always given his feedback and opinions in an honest way without me feeling uncomfortable for asking. I would strongly recommend James to anyone with my type of cancer he is a fantastic oncologist and I am more than happy with my treatment and the fact he has never given up on me is amazing. He has a fantastic oncology team that work with him and he certainly "holds a tight ship" Well done James and thank you

The service has been exemplary, from the welcomung abd efficiency of the receptionist in the Fracture Climic, the surgeons, nurses and the Dr's who have treated me. I was always listened to and treated in a personable manner and with dignity Everyting was always clearly explained and my understanding checked. I felt everything was going to be done to ensure my preferred hand returned to full use. Due to this diligence I have fully recovered in both my wrist and fingers and back to my busy active life that I experienced prior to the injury. My injury was explained and supported until planned surgery which was at a time of my choosing to fit with competition events. The findings at surgery were explained fully and accompanied by photographs of the damage inside my knee joint. I have a clear plan forwards and know I can return should I have further questions. I felt truly cared for and in very capable hands. She is efficient, skilled, and highly knowledgeable. Every one I met at the Princess Grace Hospital was most pleasant and attentive from the reception staff to the nursing staff. All of the nurses I met from the initial welcome on the 5th floor on 19/11/25 to both Halima and Fernanda who looked after me during the night and day were all especially kind to me. there were many others but unfortunately I did not write down their names. I think it would be difficult to think of a better place to be a patient.

I had an excellent experience. The location was easy to find and parking was available on site. The staff were really friendly on arrival and there was nice quiet areas to sit and wait. DR Pradhan was great in explaining all the procedure and understanding my circumstances. She took lots of time to answer any questions and give me all the information I needed. First time at Reflex 18 and had had good reports from Colchester Harriers. Was seen by Josh Harvey who went through my running history and then took a look at two niggles (ankle and knee). It was great to go through some of the rehab exercises with Josh to make sure I was confident to do these at home. All in all an great experience and Id have no hesitation in recommending Reflex 18 to others.
