As I am not a well person and a wheelchair user, the wait was longer due to my health and help to get out. The staff were very understanding around this. I found though, beyond reception the phone system was not the easiest due to the very short length of time given to leave your message, which for people who are disabled, so not the fastest just basic messages of name, number, DOB plus short message, it frequently cut off before you had finished. Beyond that, it was a pleasant experience as it was the least painful steroid injection I'd had to date and I did let the consultant know that. The staff were helpful and accommodating as a wheelchair user plus self employed PA we know we take up space, so not the easiest inside a small room. Thankfully I can still transfer which helps so I can fold the wheelchair up once on to the couch. The staff were very helpful around my safety doing so which is always really appreciated. Please thank them for me.

Mr Arambage was kind, paitent and empathetic. It was a lovey surprise to speak to a Dr who had already gone through my history and could confidently refer to it, rather than double checking or asking for information already discussed, as this has been a rare experience for me. He was clearly knowledgeable on the subject and could refer to previous experience that was relevant to my scenario and used that to make appropriate recommendations. I liked that his knowledge of my history meant we could skip to important information and have more time to discuss this in detail rather than spend 15min going through my last 2 decades of investigation. Mostly I am relieved to hear a medical professional saying these symptoms are real, with a root cause that can be treated, I am not delusional and to have a clear plan of action moving forward. It is a great weight off my shoulders and I am incredibly grateful for that and for Kirana’s time and efforts.

Since the appointment, I genuinely cannot believe the difference I feel within myself. The impact on my wellbeing has been significant, both emotionally and physically, and for the first time in a long while I feel hopeful and grounded in my body again. I was thoroughly delighted by the experience. I was booked in very swiftly and efficiently by Ms Lisa Beckles, Prof Redwood's secretary, who went out of her way to get me a quick response to my initial email requesting a consultation, arranged my stress echo and squeezed in an appointment for me on the same. The stress echo team conducted a thorough test of my cardiovascular fitness and went out of their way to provide an urgent report so that I could discuss the results with Prof Redwood only an hour after the event. My thanks to Marlene and Chiara (apologies for spelling) and to another cardiologist whose name I have unfortunately forgotten. Professor Redwood was as ever charming and efficient and told me some very good news!

I’ve had a very positive experience with Dr Sabharwal, she’s extremely professional throughout the consultation and took time to explain everything clearly and thoroughly I didn’t feel rushed and she made me feel. The outstanding treatment and care exceeded my expectations. Having been shocked to find I had advanced cataracts in both eyes I was concerned about the treatment and finding a good ophthalmologist to carry this out. I was fortunate enough to treated by Masara Laginaf at OCL Vision. She was excellent at every stage, providing clear explanations of the procedure and expected outcomes, responding to my email questions and making the surgery itself a pleasant experience (which thoroughly surprised me!) I can now fully see without the need for glasses or contacts and I am thrilled. I thoroughly recommend Masara and OCL Vision. 5 out of 5 stars.

Easy booking and what I felt were good time slots available. Considering the time the doctor spent on me against the rushed atmosphere of NHS GP services, I felt I got good value for money and a more thorough service. I will use Private GP Extra again if this current issue continues or if I/one of my family have a complex issue that I don't believe the NHS have the time/skill to handle in a standard GP setting.
