Mr Shafi Wardak

Mr Shafi Wardak is a Consultant Urological Surgeon at Royal Berkshire NHS Foundation Trust and a key member of the Reading Urology Partnership. He graduated with an MBBS from University College London in 2009, having previously earned a Bachelor of Medical Sciences from the University of London and a Master’s degree in Surgical Technology from Imperial College London. He completed his specialist training at leading London hospitals including The Royal London, Guy’s & St Thomas’, and UCLH. He further refined his skills with a senior fellowship at UCLH’s Institute of Andrology, focusing on male infertility, penile prosthetic surgery, and genital reconstruction.

Mr Wardak has developed regional services including a male fertility clinic serving Thames Valley and a penile prosthetic surgery service for severe erectile dysfunction. His clinical expertise covers male infertility assessment and surgical sperm retrieval techniques such as microdissection testicular sperm extraction (M-TESE), vasectomy reversal, and microsurgical varicocele repair. He is also skilled in treating Peyronie’s disease with surgical and non-surgical approaches, managing male hypogonadism, and performing circumcisions under local or general anesthesia.

A prolific researcher, Mr Wardak has published in prominent peer-reviewed journals and frequently presents at international conferences. He also serves as Lead for Clinical Governance at Royal Berkshire, ensuring high standards of patient care and safety.
