Dear Justin I wanted to write to you and thank you and your staff at the Spire Fylde Coast Hospital Blackpool, for their outstanding care and support to me in the build up to, and both during and after my total hip replacement operation Monday 17 November 2025. Following a series of appointments from October, I had the operation under a spinal anaesthetic, conducted by the excellent Mr Shah with support from the equally high calibre consultant anaesthetist and his team. I was kindly afforded the courtesy of a private room which was very comfortable and this was especially helpful, postoperatively, when receiving visitors. All the staff involved both in the build up to the operation, and both on the day and afterwards were absolutely wonderful in their approach and went way beyond all expectations, to ensure I was relaxed and comfortable throughout the day and overnight. My wife is a retired trained Nurse with over 40 years experience and she was highly impressed with the clinical standard and professionalism and the caring attitude of everybody involved. This was a classic case of the healthcare at its optimum best. As the CEO of the Spire Fylde Coast Hospital Blackpool, you and your Board colleagues should be rightly proud of each and every one of the team that delivered this outstanding patient and family member experience. I went in today for my first ever colonoscopy. Although I was nervous, every staff member I met made me feel comfortable and at ease. there was a brief 10 minute wait before I saw the nurse, who was very informative about the procedure and took some recordings (blood pressure, heart rate etc.) before asking me some questions. After not very long at all I went into the room to have my procedure and Samer and his team were excellent in talking me through the process, what I might experience, and how long it would be. They regularly checked in on me throughout to ask how I was doing. Regarding the colonoscopy itself - overall I felt no pain at all really - some discomfort from the gas (which they make you aware of) but otherwise it was fine. I chose sedation rather than gas & air, and found this worked well for me. It is an odd sensation in general; but manageable. The procedure took maybe 20 minutes, before I was moved to recovery. The recovery nurse & all staff members there were very friendly. They read me my report, made sure I understood the results, and gave me some biscuits and squash (which I was grateful for after 24H of not eating!) - I was out from here after around 20 minutes, having no notable lingering side effects from either the medication or procedure. Overall, fantastic service from everyone. Thank you so much.

Although the appointment wasn't satisfactory for me because the doctor couldn't give me a second opinion on my back and neck pain since his specialty is lower extremities, he sent me for updated MRI exams so he could give me a responsible and accurate second opinion on my knee and ankle. I emailed the doctor and am waiting for him to reply with his diagnosis from the previous appointment so I can provide my employer with the information they need to continue helping me with the MRI costs and get positive results that will allow me to go to work without any health risks. Thank you very much.
