When I first met Mr Daniel Fudulu. I was extremely nervous. I’m very worried as you can imagine I’ve never been to the BRI..Also being far away from home .. Mr Daniel Fudulu made me relaxed and extremely welcome. he spoke then paused and asked if I had any questions which I felt was very helpful and not once I felt rushed..after 10mins I felt so relaxed and realised we had a lot in common. I knew Mr Daniel Fudulu was the one to give me a second chance of life . He was fantastic understood me and understood my worries took the time to listen to me & never once felt rushed .i just knew I could 100% trust Mr Daniel Fuduluand his team with my life. Also, the care I received at the BRI was fantastic. The intensive care team was brilliant helped me for start to finish and then the recovery ward was just to say even when I was lonely where my family was far away the cleaner the tea lady all took time to talk to me, which made my day a lot better. i can’t fault the friendliness and cleanliness of the building, as both were fine. However i’m personally disappointed in the follow up for my appointment, without going into too much personal detail, my issue involved changing mental health medication which needed close monitoring, i found it challenging having to email a generic email to discuss my private information with admin staff on a friday morning after my appointment , and was left all weekend without any feedback, i ended up getting a generic email on monday morning. this could have been detrimental to a vulnerable person changing a medication so flippantly and am quite disappointed that this GP didn’t take this into consideration and lacked holistic care. i had clarity not to change my medication on a whim on the advice of the gp as i felt the support wasn’t there. duality healthcare could be positive to a physical ailment but not in this case. i was actually going to join as a member but decided against this due to my experience with duality.

All staff were very efficient and attentive. There were two areas of concern. The cocktail of pain killers was not fully explained to me and I was severely sick both in hospital and at home on my release day, Saturday December 6th. My wife at 2000hrs rang the ward from home and was able to travel to the hospital collect an anti nausea prescription, this at 21.30. Jasmine (ward 1) and Sophie(ward 2) were brilliant. In addition, having been told at 1.30 I could go home my wife and I eventually left at approximately 4.30. Surprisingly there was only one porter on duty on the Saturday afternoon.

My son needed to have two teeth extracted prior to being fitted with braces the following month. The dentist was extremely caring - especially as the procedure proved to be quite difficult due to the large roots of the teeth being pulled. It took an hour for the first tooth to finally come out - and the dentist recommended that a second appointment be made to minimise the amount of trauma caused extracting both teeth in one go. The appointment was made while the procedure was still ongoing - which was very efficient and was a relief for my son.

Mr Jones was kind, genial, professional and as gentle as he could be with the procedure. He chatted to me during the procedure , telling me about the scan that was showing the fluid on/ around my knee and was happy to answer my question about what the fluid was that he was removing etc. He told me that I’d get a call from him in a few months time to check how I’m getting on rather than a face to face follow up.
