I booked and paid for a private online consultation with Dr Vinesan Naidoo regarding persistent hyperprolactinaemia confirmed on blood tests (monomeric prolactin approx. 590 mIU/L; total prolactin approx. 704 mIU/L) with ongoing symptoms including low libido, low energy, anxiety, poor sleep and mood issues. This appointment was extremely disappointing. From the start, I was interrupted repeatedly and not allowed to explain my symptoms properly. The doctor quickly dismissed the issue as “physiological” and “not a medical concern” despite clearly abnormal blood results and clear symptoms affecting my quality of life. What I found most frustrating is that he seemed to assume he knew better than I do about what I’m experiencing, essentially implying that raised prolactin at these levels cannot cause symptoms — even though it is well known that prolactin elevation can affect libido, mood, energy and sexual function in men. There was no structured assessment and no clear plan. The consultation did not cover: possible causes of raised prolactin repeat testing plan (fasting, stress-controlled, early morning) medication/supplement review endocrine referral pathway whether pituitary imaging should be considered if prolactin remains elevated As a patient paying privately, I expected a professional, thorough medical discussion. Instead, I felt dismissed and rushed, and left with no help, no reassurance, and no next steps. I cannot recommend this doctor based on my experience. I paid for a medical consultation, but what I received was an opinion with no investigation, no plan and no clinical value.

Luckily we were recommended Jess by our (also very lovely) GP and we couldn't have wished for a better outcome on all fronts: Jess' track record gave us a lot of trust initially and interacting with her it quickly became clear how she built it - her friendly and skilful guidance helped us through each stage of the pregnancy and even took away my fear of the c-section, which was indeed executed perfectly by her and the wider team she put together. The most important feature of the package we booked in our view was the constant access to her and her team via text and phone, which gave us the reassurance we needed - and which was absolutely instrumental in helping us manage an ankle fracture I sustained in my second trimester as we were able to make the best decisions for our baby by getting the right input through the initial night we spent in A&E and also further down the line. We would absolutely want Jess by our side again should we be lucky enough to experience a second pregnancy!

Both procedures went successfully, and I always felt safe and confident under his care. He gave me a sense of calm and trust during a very difficult and emotional time. He prescribed all the necessary medications and physiotherapy, and whenever I had questions, he responded promptly and kindly. His support never stopped outside appointments — he was always there when I needed guidance. Beyond his exceptional professionalism, Dr Gautam is a genuinely kind, compassionate, and empathetic person. My visit was entirely satisfactory. The staff were exceptionally friendly at all times and they seem to meet a lot of them. I was getting informed about what was going to happen to me at all times. The menu was amazing and the whole place seem to be extremely efficiently run My only comment of an adverse nature would be that having been shown to a room on my arrival where my wife carefully unpacked all my belongings she she know sooner had left Than. I had to pack them all up again because I was being transferred to another room and then when I came out of the operating theatre before I went home, I had to wait three hours before I managed to get my belongings back again no book to read or iPad slightly frustrating but that was the only hiccup on an excellent visit.

I attended a follow up consultation with Dr Gaya yesterday during which he gave me my recent MRI and PET/CT scan results. As always, Dr Gaya spent time explaining his findings and action to be taken going forward. We also discussed my current state of health, my planned treatment by the Rheumatology Team and the impact the most recent Rituximab infusion is having. Dr Gaya is always very pleasant, asks relevant questions and is very clear about next steps in the short term whilst having plans for the longer term. I look forward to his encouraging consultations every two weeks. Dr Gaya’s calm, measured, patient manner reflects his professionalism and care towards his patients. He keeps me sane, especially in times of anxiousness !

I was admitted to St Mary’s for emergency upper GI surgery and had the good fortune to be assigned to Lal Navaratne. I have never before known such a caring, friendly, considerate, down-to-earth consultant. Lal not only saved my life (laparoscopically!) he visited me twice a day during recovery, arranged a transfer to my chosen ward, and introduced me to a charming health coordination doctor. Lal is everything one would wish for in a medical professional, a brilliant surgeon, and a really lovely human being. My overall care at St Mary’s was first class and second to none, in which Lal played a key role.

Not only has she been incredibly thorough in testing, assessing, and evaluating my health conditions, she has gone above and beyond to be available for questions and support. I had been to two cardiologists prior who had dismissed my concerns and in a very short time she diagnosed me and walked me through a treatment plan. She is an expert in her field and a pioneer snd advocate for women navigating often overlooked and sidelined symptoms. I am beyond grateful to be in her care.

1)I found the signage to the main lifts and to Lyndhurst rooms confusing. There should be signage in the ground floor lift lobby saying which departments are on which floor. I have been complaining about this since 1971. 2)The excellent group portrait of the Royal Free consultants in about 1970 which used to be on the ground floor but has now been removed to the 12th Floor no longer has the key saying who they are. This is a digrace and an insult to the memory of a fine group of men (and about ten women), The key should be found and reinstated immediately.

Thyroid blood test. Never been before. Autistic so some challeges : a sign on door to push would have helped, it was intimidating, couldn’t get in straight away. An area with reduced lighting to wait would have reduced my overwhelm, was very close to waiting outside. Became very overwhelmed trying to explain which test I had booked, knew there was a fault on the website. Although the situation was rectified satisfactorily, it was still an overwhelming, triggering experience.

Kerry's leave of care is next level, Professional with a capital P! Dr Hunter is a man of his word, I felt listened to and reassured. Dr Hunter goes the extra mile. 9/10 My Sonographer Rima Shah was fantastic, professional and informative. To improve the service i think it would be nice if a cardiologists could quickly glance/look over results and give a brief written note/summary of results/heart health. It is a shame that in order to get a cardiologists insight/reassurance I then have to rebook and pay for an additional appointment.

I had a wonderful day at the Lister Hospital being looked after beautifully before and after my hip procedure. Janette, my nurse couldn't have been friendlier or more reassuring, the food I had was very good and fresh, and then to have a little sprinkling of reflexology on the 'menu' was icing on the cake! All in all a great experience.
