Walking into rehab has been the best decision I've ever made in my adult life. I finally admitted after years of lying to myself, family and friends that I have a problem and I can't beat my addiction on my own. Don't get me wrong, I was filled with shame, guilt upon saying this but also a sense of relief that I'm finally telling myself and others the truth. I was in Rehab for 14 days, the treatment was excellent. I was so worried walking in, full of nerves and anxiety, that quickly went away from the warm welcome I received from the staff and my fellow peers. I had a full alcohol detox for the first week, and daily workshops for the entire 14 days that were led by therapists. In these workshops they teach you tools to help you for when you leave, for example, how to deal with triggers and urges, anger, boredom, the guilt and shame just to name a few. I am so grateful to the team that helped and supported during my stay. I've made a few friends too that I am still in contact with today. Unfortunately in my experience, rehab will not work unless you are ready to give up whatever poison is ruining your life through addiction, if you are ready, and ready to admit you are powerless to do this on your own then there are numbers out there that will assist you in finding the right help you need, give them a call. They too are amazing people who know exactly what you are going through as most of them, if not all are recovering addicts/alcoholics themselves. I cannot rate the helpline and clinic high enough. From my first call, where the lady I spoke to was calming, respectful and so non- judging. I was calling on behalf of my brother and from the first call I knew the team cared - they supported both myself and my brother through a highly stressful and emotional experience. The admissions, clonic and aftercare teams have all been the same. It’s a situation I never expected to be in but the support and care received was and continues to be excellent,. My brother was rock bottom and suicidal, and while he’s still at the very early stages of his recovery, he is doing great and says the therapy - group and 121, he received and continues to receive through his outreach worker is first class. Being supported and returning his support to other addicts he found really powerful, and he left with personal phone numbers to continue to help each other ‘outside’ We hope never to need the clinic again but I cannot rate it high enough. I’m so thankful I swallowed my fear and picked up the phone that day.

I was in desperation at how to help my child as I was watching her kill her young body by means of drugs, I found Rehab 4 Addiction online and sent them an email late at night. I received a phone call the next day which I really appreciated. I was given advice and more phone calls received. The phone calls with advice on what was available for my child and for me as a parent it was the amazing support and advice I received, I have never had this and it was immensely helpful.
