Mr Louay Al-Mouazzen

I had suffered recurrent patella dislocation, primarily in my left knee, initially. This started occurring after no apparent trauma beforehand (I had had multiple dislocations and subluxations in that knee previously, but not for around seven years before the series of incidents which led me to Mr Al-Mouazzen. After an examination and imaging, it was determined that my left knee would require a tibial tubercle osteotomy alongside an Insall tube and medial patellar-tibial ligament reconstruction with modified Insalll procedure. This complex procedure was explained clearly by Mr Al-Mouazzen. Approximately a month after my initial consultation, I encountered very similar issues in my right knee out of the blue: it needed the same procedure. Following scans while I was in hospital recovering from the surgery on my left knee, focus shifted to my right, and I was fortunate enough that a cancellation became available, so within around three weeks, both knees had been operated on. My case was made more complex by the fact that I have cerebral palsy, but Mr Al-Mouazzen did not let this faze him and conducted research and liaised with colleagues where required.

A year ago, I had surgery for fibroids, and almost a year later, on July 17, 2026, I returned to the hospital for a total abdominal hysterectomy, which was performed by Ms. Pushpakala Maharajan and her team. I was very pleased to be under the care of the same doctor again. The clinic is excellent—very clean, with spacious and comfortable rooms. The food was also very good. This is a good hospital. Nice clean bathrooms and waiting rooms. The staff were helpful and on the whole friendly. I did find on one occasion (the first time I visited the hospital) the imagine reception staff were somewhat unwelcoming and didn’t give me clear instruction on where to go. I eventually found my way and there was no real issue but because of some chatter among themselves and a less than friendly reception when i’d asked where i should go, I did not feel I could comfortably approach the desk and ask for assistance. Also on this occasion the drinks machine needed the tray emptying and for similar reasons i did not feel comfortable asking reception to address the issue. The most recent visit I had though was fantastic and on the whole the hospital has had excellent service and I was never kept waiting long at all.

I have now, over the course of two years, had cataract operations on both my eyes at Newmedica. I was more nervous having the second operation than the first as I knew what to expect. However, I needn't have worried in the slightest, as I didn't feel a thing. The recovery both times was very quick and my eyesight is brilliant now. I haven't had the need to wear glasses for two years which is a big win for me. Both times I had intraocular lenses made for my eyes, hopefully now I'll never need to wear glasses again - fingers crossed
