My experience with Dr McCann has been very positive. From my initial consultation, I felt that he genuinely took the time to listen, understand my circumstances and consider the wider picture rather than simply focusing on symptoms or a diagnosis. I have a complex personal history, and being able to explain how I experience and process things is particularly important to me. Dr McCann has been thoughtful, compassionate and professional in his approach, allowing me the space to speak openly without feeling judged or misunderstood. What I particularly appreciate is his willingness to explore matters thoroughly, ask questions and consider different perspectives rather than rushing to conclusions. Another aspect of his care that I am particularly grateful for was how promptly he recognised the need for specialist therapeutic support and facilitated a referral. At a time when accessing appropriate mental health services can involve considerable waiting periods, having that support arranged so quickly made a real difference to me. I am still in the early stages of working with Dr McCann, but I feel reassured by his approach and grateful to have found someone who is helping me better understand myself and the most appropriate way forward. I would certainly recommend him to anyone seeking a psychiatrist who is approachable, considered and genuinely attentive to their individual circumstances.

The Horder Centre

I’m assuming this is for my physio appointment in Eastbourne. The staff are friendly, helpful and pleasant. I arrived early but didn’t wait long to be called in. The physiotherapist (Hayley) was friendly, patient, thorough and pleasant. She took plenty of history relevant to my joints and physically checked my range of movement in the new knee. I am going back for further physio to ensure I stay on track. I’ve realised after going to the next page that this refers to my knee replacement carried out by Mr Skyrme. The operation was wholly successful and carried out with the utmost care and skill. The wound healed beautifully with no problems. The exercises are hated by myself and painful but as time goes on the knee is able to move more and the exercises become less painful. I can’t do the walking required as I have a spine “problem” which is preventing me being able to walk as far as I need to, to aid my recovery. If I can get that sorted then I will be able to do what is required for a full recovery. I truly appreciate the Horder Centre both here in Eastbourne and at the Surgical Centre in Crowborough. The care, attention and follow up are second to none. I have no hesitate in recommending The Horder Centre. They are a centre of excellence. If I am unlucky enough to need more joint replacements in the future I would hope and pray to be referred to The Horder. Thanks to you all. x

The Medicana admin was awful. Everything needed chasing more than once, including chasing 3 times to pay my bill. I didn’t even know 2 weeks before my procedure if I needed to attend the clinic for a pre operative assessment. When I eventually spoke to someone they told me they don’t even look at that until a week before the procedure, which is no good for people like me who need to make arrangements and have to travel an hour each way to the clinic. I was promised an admission letter, which I then had to chase for twice. Eventually I received it via ‘Egress secure platform’, but none of the links would open. Some of the information in the links, such as managing the stress before an operation and potentially losing weight if necessary were needed much earlier, not 8 days before the op. The worst thing was that my admission paperwork said the person escorting me to the clinic, couldn’t stay once I had been admitted, which was hugely stressful for me, but turned out not to be true and he stayed with me all day. Lovely for me, but not so much for him as he was totally unprepared and hadn’t eaten or brought any food and there is no cafe at the clinic.

I absolutely love this practice! The decor is incredible, the ambiance gives the vibe of a posh hotel I just love, love, love it. The receptionists are always so lovely, welcoming and polite, and the whole team makes you feel so comfortable. Dr Claire is truly outstanding. If she ever moved abroad, I would honestly have to follow her! I originally followed her from the Cheadle practice, and I’m so glad I did. She is such a lovely, caring and professional doctor who genuinely makes you feel at ease. Sometimes I go in feeling a little embarrassed because I know I can be particular and want everything to be perfect, but Claire never makes me feel that way. She is always so understanding, patient and reassuring, and I leave feeling so happy with the results. I honestly cannot recommend Dr Claire and the team enough. They are exceptional at what they do, and the care and kindness they show really make all the difference. Hopefully, my sister and cousin will be joining the practice soon too! I had an appointment with Dr Girgis at St Joseph hospital. The receptionist was very helpful and sent me to the right eye department. The staff there were amazing and very reassuring. I met Dr Girgis afterwards who explained to me about the cataract surgery . I was very pleased with everything. I came back a week later and had the 1st op in one eye l, I went home with all the information and medication . It went well and I felt no pain at all . 2 weeks later I had the other eye done . It also went really well . Dr Girgis called me after both surgeries to check if I was ok . My eyes are in great condition now . Thank you Dr Girgis you are the best ophtalmologist and thanks to St Joseph hospital i felt i was i. A 5 star hotel . Maha H.

My visit was to review my heart health and medication, including a ECG. The waiting area is comfortable. Tea and biscuits were provided. The ECG and interview were conducted in a private room. In my interview with the specialist cardiologist he was able to access my NHS records and get a full account of my medical history. He discussed my present situation and advised me on possible future courses of action. I had written down a list of questions I wanted to ask and he answered those. He is arranging for me to have a test on my heart structure and function. Overall I was very satisfied with the appointment. It is reassuring to have a discussion with an expert cardiologist. I parked in the nearby Tesco carpark.

I've recently had physiotherapy treatment with John, and would highly recommend his services. I injured my back during a deadlift in my powerlifting competition and immediately felt a lot of pain which worried me as to how long I'd be out of not only my sport but also my work as a Firefighter. John assessed my back, told me what he thought I'd done and provided massage therapy over a few weeks. He also gave me exercises to do at home, and just over a month later I'm back to around 70% of my pre-injury lifting capability, which is far more than I expected at this stage. My confidence is high that I'll soon be back to competing and at full strength.

I travelled all the way from Jersey to see Professor Imam, and it was absolutely worth it. After a disappointing experience with my previous surgery in Jersey, I decided to seek his expertise. The difference in care, professionalism and overall experience was remarkable. Professor Imam and his team have been outstanding, and the care I received at New Victoria Hospital has been brilliant. My recovery is going very well, and I am happy with the outcome. I am more than happy to travel from Jersey for this level of care. It has been a completely different experience, and I cannot recommend Professor Imam and his team highly enough.

My recent visit to Mr Syed was due to issues with my prostate so naturally very worrying as generally men don’t like to discuss anything personal. After introducing himself. It was surprising that it was comfortable conversation with Mr Syed using common Language with very little technical/medical language unless needed even to the point of drawing diagrams and pulling out books. Every step was explained and reasons given in the process and made me comfortable in my difficult time. I would be more than happy to recommend Mr Syed to any person facing this difficult situation.

Dr Ravi Rajakariar

Dr Ravi is very pleasant to deal with. He explains everything in detail so that I can understand how my Kidneys are functioning. He also explains all about the medication and infusions that I require. At present my Kidneys are functioning ok and my next appointment with him will be in January. He has asi printed out my labels for my next bloods and urine. And I will be picking up my medication free m the hospital pharmacy on Thursday. Thanks Dr Ravi. And well done Royal London. I’ve always been dealt with the greatest respect. Thank You.

First time in Salisbury hospital. I found it easy to find the department. And was sent straight down for an xray. That was done very quick. Then back.to the department where I walked straight in to bmi and weight done then straight in to see Mr Shergill. He was a lovely consultant, gave us all the information needed and answered any questions. So, now i am finally on a waiting list with knowledge how long the waiting list is and what to expect. The whole visit today was quick, not stressful, and positive . Now just wait.

Mr James was very kind and understanding with my rather demanding mother!! He suggested that maybe she didn’t need the operation, but that if it got worse, maybe she could have it done in a couple of years….! Cant tell you how grateful I am for the way he handled the situation. EXCELLENT service from all the team. My only negative is that The Spencer Hospital, is not CLEARLY signposted as you enter the hospital ground. Could definitely have bigger and clearer signage. But all the medical parts were fabulous. Thank you .

Really helpful kind staff who explained every step of the process and were extremely compassionate when it came to painful or distressing moments. They really looked after me every step of the way from pre-surgery through to the extra vents for MRI to the surgery itself and then afterwards having the frame removed. Their care made my recovery much easier. It is a very frightening experience so having such thorough professionals beside me made a massive difference. I’m so glad I had it done there.

I was treated very professionally with kindness and understanding from Mr Rao as when I had my other hip replacement 15 years ago I had to have follow up revision surgery as my leg was an inch and a half longer Mr Rao was very reassuring that it would be ok this time and actually came into recovery after to let me know both legs were the same which I really appreciated as that was my worse fear.
