I attended for spinal MRI. Unfortunately the technician was running late for which I was happy to wait but because of timing his communication to me was very poor. I was shown a room to change and left there without any guidance, I was then taken to the MRI machine and not spoken to really to ask if I was okay or to provide any reassurance. I don’t like MRI scans because can feel anxious within the machine. All it takes is a little bit of reassurance and acknowledgement for which I had none. Throughout the test the technician did not speak to me at all to ask if I was okay. I am not sure if this is normal but I found during the MRI it became quite hot which I have not experienced before. When the test was over he hurried me away from the machine without acknowledging my back could be hurting when getting up, which it was a little. He didn’t show me to the door so I had to ask if I was allowed to go and then left the room to change and go home. My review would be it is the smallest common curtesies that makes all the difference to a patient and this time I did not experience this at all. So much so I won’t be choosing to go to this venue for another investigation

Mr Raza has been incredible. From the first appointment he understood my pain, other symptoms and the impact it was all having on me as a person. He gave me several options and I ended up having excision of endometriosis surgery with him early October. To say Mr Raza and this surgery changed my life is an understatement. I have gone from needing a walking stick to walking greater distances than I have in years and my pain has greatly subsided. His team have been so supportive of me and my husband throughout this journey (Sukhy and Denia are amazing too). Initial assessments were thorough and the clinicians were kind and understanding. Prescription costs seem affordable and my first prescribed medications were a slight improvement to before. My second prescription was not approved/provided on time and rationing medications/running out for a few days has caused some stress I had bad withdrawal/negative wellbeing from being requested to stop a previous medication, I feel this was somewhat unavoidable but I was not informed of what to expect stopping that med and left to work out the cause of the feelings on my own

All the staff including the catheters were very helpful, especially the two nurses who took care of me, very caring looked after all my needs. Dr Riyaz Somani has very good bed side manors, he explained the operation procedure very well then he came and saw me again after the operation to let me know how it went with no problems. He then explained what I should do to help with my recovery, then asked me if I had any questions. Very happy with my experience at the spire hospital for Nottingham.

Spire was brilliant. Clean, Friendly staff, fast process (MRI in just a few days for example). I had a nerve block injection at Murrayfield and I had my own room which was spotless, all the staff were great from the nurse in the ward to the surgeon via the person who brought me lunch (which I could pick off a menu). Would highly recommend (though don’t injure yourself in the first place if you can help it)

Would highly recommend Mr Sahu. He was thorough and took the time to explain my situation to me. It was reassuring to know that the treatment I had already been receiving for my AMD was appropriate but he also highlighted the need for cataract surgery in both eyes. The receptionist with her friendly manner relaxed me straight away. The dentist has a calming manner also and did not push me from my comfort zone. Overall a good experience.
