Overall experience was poor. After initial consultation I had little or no contact with the hospital, any contact was initiated by myself. Clear lack of communication between departments. I had already paid for my procedure and waiting for a surgery slot. Surgery was scheduled for a Wednesday but received a call the Friday before basically saying if I didnt drive up that day and do a blood test, the operation couldn't go ahead. Luckily I was in a position where I could do that but imagine if I had kids, couldn't get out of work, had no car/transport. The list goes on. The actual surgery seems to have gone well. (1 week post op). But.... the whole experience was pretty poor, no, very poor. I'd have been upset if this was the NHS but this was a privately paid procedure and if it wasn't for the fact that I had already booked time off work, staff cover, kennels for my Cane Corso's (which wasn't cheap) I genuinely would have asked for my money back and gone somewhere else.

Dr Sotiris Nicholas provided my anaesthesia for a C-section at the Portland Hospital and his care was exceptional. He was incredibly warm and reassuring, explaining everything clearly so I knew exactly what to expect. The entire process was painless, calm, and far more relaxing than I could have imagined. He stayed with us throughout the C-section, and despite working closely with the obstetrician, he chatted to us the whole time, keeping us both calm and helping us truly enjoy the birth of our baby. He even went above and beyond by taking beautiful photographs of this incredibly special moment. We will always remember the role he played in our baby’s birth and could not recommend him more highly to anyone looking for the right anaesthetist to support them during a C-section.

I can’t recommend Dr Emily Cary highly enough. She has been absolutely amazing in supporting me through the early stages of perimenopause. She took the time to tailor my care to me as an individual, rather than taking a one-size-fits-all approach. RTN Mental Health - Right To Choose

Trying to book the appointment for the video interview for the autism assessment was very frustrating as there were often no slots available and I had to keep trying numerous times before I got an appointment. One of the reasons I have used RTN for Right to Choose was because the details for RTN showed that it would take 10 weeks to receive a diagnosis. It took nearly a year to get the autism assessment and a year later I am still waiting to receive the ADHD report, although I have received a verbal diagnosis. It was good to be given a verbal diagnosis at the end of the ADHD video interview and to have a discussion about the next steps to find out if medicineI is an option. However it is going to take even longer to find out about medication.

The consultant was very reassuring throughout. The teams, medical and physio, came across as calm, competent and professional. The nurses and reception staff at the hospital were friendly, calm and professional not just to me, the patient, but to my wife as well. Recovery after the procedure was less daunting than I feared it would be, the pain experienced was less than I feared it might be, and the rehab process has been every bit as easy as I was told it might be. I chose to go privately with Mr Mishreki, as he had treated me before at my local NHS hospital, and the NHS waiting list was too long. In all my dealings with him, he was excellent, he explained what he would be doing before and how things would progress after my operation. There was a small problem after the operation which he dealt with very quickly and professionally. He is pleasant and easy to talk to and seems supportive to his team. I would recommend him to anyone with similar problems to me.

I had trouble releasing urine, as well as blood being present in the urine. Blood would still come out after urination. A stricture in my urethra was the reason for my discomfort. Mr Varun Sahdev was able to determine that and propose various procedure options. After the operation, all my discomfort gradually disappeared, with a very significant change right after the operation.
