6th July 2026 Location Ella May Barnes Consulting Rooms NHS Norfolk and Norwich University Hospital (nnuh) I came away from my first consultation with Mr Stearns, with a glimmer of ‘hope’ and optimism. The reasons for my positive confidence, was due to for the first time in six years, a consultant saw me as his equal and understood my situation where my stoma issues were causing significant impact on quality of live. Together we formulated a flexible treatment plan, which we will review when the various tests results are available. What makes Mr Stearns a excellent Consultant, is his ability to communicate effectively, actively listen to my situation (not typing or writing while I talked)and actively managed my expectations by being honest with me in a calm positive way, about ‘what can be done’ with my stoma to improve my quality of life. Coupled with his competences of Colorectal surgery, and application of his in-depth knowledge and experiences, and his ability to work with me, ultimately providing me with various options to considered. I feel Mr Streaves is the first Colorectal Surgeon Consultant, who truly understood how my daily struggles with my stoma was having a large impact on what I could do and what I could not do. If, someone could bottle the essence of how to be a caring consultant who communicates and managed people in their expectations of availability of treatment by applying his expertise. The Consultant would be Mr Stearns. Alternatively, someone could watch Mr Stearns in action and see what an excellent consultation looks like. Then write this down and share especially with new would-be doctors. Thank you for giving me, my hope for a better future. Other Information I would say if you are unable to walk too far or have a wheelchair, you may like to use the ‘drop off and pick up’ facility right outside the building containing the Consulting rooms. Unfortunately, the suggested parking facility is about 10 mins walk from Consulting rooms.

Mr Karan Jolly

I saw Mr Karan Jolly after noticing changes to my voice, and I could not have asked for a better experience from start to finish. From the moment I walked into clinic he put me completely at ease, taking the time to listen properly to my concerns rather than rushing through the appointment. He explained everything in a way that was easy to understand, both what he was looking for and what each step of the assessment involved. He carried out a nasoendoscopy in clinic during the same appointment, which was reassuring as it meant no waiting around for a separate visit, and he talked me through the procedure and the findings clearly. Following the assessment, he referred me on for vocal exercises with a clear explanation of why this was the right next step and what I could expect from it. I left the appointment feeling fully informed, reassured, and confident in the plan going forward. I would also like to acknowledge his secretary Lily, who kept in touch with me throughout and was professional, friendly, and efficient at every point of contact. The whole experience, from first enquiry to follow-up, was seamless. Mr Jolly is knowledgeable, thorough, and genuinely kind in his manner. I would highly recommend him to anyone with voice or ENT concerns.

I had a breast augmentation on 15th July and stayed one night on the ward. Dr. Heiw was absolutely amazing. From my first consultation through to my discharge, the whole experience was smooth, stress-free, and professional. I would definitely recommend him to anyone considering cosmetic surgery. Everything was explained to me clearly at every stage, which made me feel completely informed and reassured throughout the process. I was excited rather than nervous, and I truly believe that was because of how well everything was communicated. The ward staff were also incredible, especially the night staff who looked after me after surgery when I felt sick from the anaesthetic. Their kindness, care, and support made a real difference. A week later, I’m still healing and resting, but I’m already so happy with the results—they look fantastic! I’m so glad I chose St Joseph’s Hospital for my procedure. Dreadful experience. This Cambridge clinic is in SHELFORD. Not Magot Ct in Cambridge. Not Hinton Rd in Cambridge. I couldnt find it because its in Shelford not Cambridge. I parked up, 30 min before appt and contacted the clinic by email to say the address wasnt in Cambridge as I was there. The PA was rude and unhelpful and HUNG UP when I asked for help, carelessly wasting my time . I asked a stranger on tge street who told me the clinic is Shelford! I got there 15 min late because PA COULD NOT BE BOTHERED to help and gad HUNG UP from CALLER WITHHELD number.I do NOT recommend this clinic because if anything goes wrong they will not listen and will hang up on you. I wasted an hour of my life. Dont waste your time. Doc needs a new PA

I recently visited Mr Atkinson for a shave mole removal in Newcastle. From initial consultation to my removal appointment, I couldn’t have asked for more. He answered all of my questions and nothing ever felt rushed. It was a big decision for me with it being on my face and Mr Atkinson was so patient and provided me with all information I needed to make an informed decision. I’m still healing but am over the moon with the result so far and am so glad I made the decision to go ahead. If I ever need any more treatments I will definitely return to Mr Atkinson. Thank you!

Mr Shahid Farid

Happy with the consultation. I was told I could not have surgery and put up with the condition. Change diet to low fat. Life quality is poor and felt disappointed at the outcome from the other hospital. I saw Mr Farid at my own expense and had a valuable talk about how we can do this to remove gallbladder. He has made suggestions and plans to do my operation after having further test and seeing other doctors before the operation. I understand this risk but the quality of life is so important to me. Consultation fees are higher than average for a private GP. My insurance covers part of it but it does not cover 50% in my case of the full amount. Follow up consultation is only slightly decreased. Follow up is not high standard for the private sector if I compare with other places I have been to. If the patient has questions, the admin office is slow to reply and you have to go through the practice management office, not directly to the practitioner. Overall this is not a place I would recommend necessarily.

The consultation with Mr Andrew Chetwood was as good as it gets. Personable, incredibly informative and fills you with absolute confidence about a pathway forward. Whilst medical matters are serious, Andrew has a relaxed and reassuring approach, discussing technicalities with dialogue the patient can get to grips with easily. This is my third visit, and be reassured his approach is consistent. Clearly this is a man who loves his work, and takes pride in providing medical solutions to his patient.

My “benchmark” mole map was taken last year so this was my first follow up. I saw Tash both last year and this year so that continuity of care is appreciated. On both occasions I have been very impressed with Tash who creates a very calm, friendly and professional environment. She is very thorough and explains everything very well, and plays close attention to all concerns. She was also very good about me popping back the following day to look at a mark I had forgotten to ask about.

Mr Jones was outstanding. He took time to listen to my father. He was professional and careful, sensible in his clinical and professional reasoning and very good at working in partnership with us. He understood the benefits and limitations of various treatment options relating to my father's knee and was gentle and considerate in his examination. I would strongly recommend Mr Jones if anyone is considering private management for knee.

The staff on the day were rude and unhelpful. Constantly requesting information and timings around several topics and I was continuously told “I’ll check” or “it’s hard to say” and then I would chase an hour later with the same outcome. My nighttime nurse was very rude and contradictory in everything she said making my stay incredibly uncomfortable. My discharge nurse was much better but my overall experience was poor.

Lauren is a magician. I've had pain in my wrist for months and medicinal interventions were not working . I was recommended to see Lauren by my consultant.. In a matter of weeks, following exercises my pain has steadily decreased. I couldn't put any body weight on my wrist and now i am able to hold planks and do pushups. I still have some way to go with rehab but this improvement has been such a relief.
