 Chris is an expert in providing high quality dental care,
individually tailored to the needs of each patient.  His particular
interest is in cosmetic dentistry; he is highly skilled in the latest
techniques for seamlessly blended tooth-coloured fillings, aesthetic build-up
work, tooth whitening, same-day ‘Cerec’ crowns, veneers, bridgework and complex
full mouth restorations.  Chris is also
accomplished in cosmetic tooth implants, whether to replace a single tooth or
as part of a full smile makeover.  He has
also achieved fantastic results for patients with Invisalign clear aligners to
straighten teeth over a relatively short timeframe.  

Chris joined the team at Backwell Dental care in 2012 having
previously worked at dental practices in Bristol. He graduated in dentistry
from Bristol University, winning the Claudius Ash Prize in Dental Techniques
and the Ivoclar Vivadent Prize for Technical Excellence. Chris has also achieved
membership of the Royal College of Surgeons, and has completed the renowned
Advanced Dental Seminars course in cosmetic dentistry and advanced restorative
dentistry.  

Chris always takes the time to fully explain various options
and works with you to ensure the best outcome. Patients comment that they feel
they are in safe hands, that he is very thorough, makes them feel at ease and

Dr Steven Ho is a General Dentist who specialises in cosmetic dental treatments, including veneers, white fillings, Invisalign, and teeth whitening. He is known to efficiently and empathetically communicate with his patients, catering to their needs and help calm anxious patients.

Steven gained his dental qualification at the University of Bristol in 2013, after which he gained Membership with the Faculty of Dental Surgeons of Edinburgh. As he continually strives for improvement and development in his practice, Steven is currently undertaking a 3-year part-time MSc Dental Implantology at the University of Bristol. Dr Ho is also fluent in Cantonese and frequently acts as a translator between patients and his colleagues.

Dr Patrick Kennedy is a highly trained Dentist covering all aspects of general and cosmetic dentistry. He is the Lead Dentist at Backwell Dental Care having gained a great deal of experience through prior training and working at other dental clinics. His main speciality is cosmetic dentistry, and he uses his optimal skills and experience to provide the best smiles for his patients.

Dr Kennedy qualified as a Dentist from the University of London in 1991 and completed a course in Implant Dentistry from the University of Bristol. He has also been awarded the Newland Pedley Prize for his impressive performance in operative dentistry, general dentistry and prosthetics. He has undertaken further dental training and has been trained in using Straumann and Osteo-ti implant systems. At the clinic, he performs orthodontics, facial aesthetics procedures, application of veneers and tooth whitening.

Apart from his dental work, he enjoys spending time with family and doing extreme sports like mountain biking.

Emma Langridge joined CK Dental in Bristol as an Associate Dentist in 2020.

Since graduating from Cardiff University in 2014, Emma has undertaken a number of hospital posts, allowing her to develop more advanced skills in the areas of restorative dentistry, oral surgery, and oral and maxillofacial surgery. She has since gone on to optimise these skills within the general practice setting, and provides a wide range of dental treatments from oral surgery through to cosmetic dentistry and facial aesthetics.

Emma has a great passion for ethically-based, minimally invasive dentistry, providing bespoke treatment plans to suit each individual patient. She firmly believes that all her patients should be able to smile with confidence, and she will work with patients until this objective is achieved. This may be simply optimising dental health for some patients, or for others this could be changing the appearance of teeth for a smile to be proud of.

Dr Kain Rawlings is a General Dentist who specialises in dental implants. He practices within a highly skilled team at The Dentists Old Market practice and has much experience delivering a high standard of service for his patients.

Kain qualified as a dentist in 1997, at the University of Adelaide, Australia, and went on to complete his bachelors degree in Forensic Dentistry in 2004. His outstanding practice allowed him to be invited to join the multi-national team of Forensic dentists, to assist with the identification of Thailand Tsunami victims in 2005. Since then, he has practiced dentistry in Bristol and has completed his PGCert in Surgical and Prosthodontic Implantology from the Eastman Institute in London.

Dr. Sonia Manikam qualified in Dentistry at the University of Bristol in 2017 and in continuation of her professional portfolio and skillset, Sonia recently embarked on a four-year Masters of Clinical Dentistry in Fixed & Removable Prosthodontics at the prestigious King’s College London.

As well as general dental practice, Sonia has a special interest and skill in minimally invasive cosmetic dentistry including veneers, crowns, teeth whitening, smile makeovers dentures and short-term orthodontics such as Invisalign. She is passionate about creating beautiful smiles using a conservative approach. She has a relaxed friendly style to put you at your ease however complex the procedure may be.

Outside of her busy dental practice, Sonia enjoys going for long walks in the countryside and playing the piano.
