Dr Eric Holroyd

Dr Eric Holroyd is a consultant cardiologist and Clinical Lead for Cardiology at Mid Cheshire NHS Trust. Dr Holroyd is involved in managing and improving the service we provide to the local community. He also provides a weekly general cardiology clinic at the UHNM and looks after in-patients, as well as performing on-call duties delivering emergency procedures such as primary angioplasty to patients suffering acute heart attacks.

Specialised in interventional cardiology, Dr Holroyd performs over 200 Percutaneous Coronary Interventions (PCI or angioplasties) a year at the University Hospital of the North Midlands. He performs diagnostic coronary angiography and percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI or stenting) usually via a radial approach (in the wrist) for patients with angina and ischaemic heart disease. He is also familiar with the use of intravascular imaging, pressure wire assessment and other percutaneous procedures.

Dr Holroyd has training in centres of excellence in the UK and USA. He studied medicine at the University of Cambridge, before training at centres including the Queen Elizabeth Hospital in Birmingham, the University Hospital of the North Midlands (UHNM, Stoke) and the Mayo Clinic in Minnesota, USA.
