Dr Aamir Ayub

Dr Aamir Ayub is a Consultant Cardiologist who now carries out more than 2000 coronary angiograms and more than 600 pacemakers procedures as part of his NHS work on a regular basis.

Dr Ayub underwent training at Blackpool Victoria Hospital and Stepping Hill Hospital, Stockport, continuing to train in Cardiology at the Hammersmith Hospital, London, and later gaining a diploma in Cardiology from the University of London.

Dr Ayub returned to the North West and undertook his MD at Manchester Royal Infirmary with Professor Paul Durrington, which he successfully completed in 1999. For the following 8 years, he was based at Wythenshawe Hospital where he gained useful experience in echocardiography and invasive cardiology including coronary angiography, right heart catheters, single and dual chamber pacemaker implantations, loop recorder implantations, implantation of ICD's and biventricular pacemakers.
