About Dr Joseph Mills
Dr Joseph Mills is a highly skilled consultant cardiologist with a special interest in coronary heart disease, risk assessment and treatment. He is dedicated to providing his patients with the highest quality of care, with a focus on risk stratification and factor modulation. Dr Mills completed his undergraduate and postgraduate training at Cambridge University, and received research training from the British Heart Foundation. He completed his cardiology training in Cambridge and East Anglia, with additional training in interventional cardiology in Bergen, Norway. He was appointed as a Cardiology Consultant at the Cardiothoracic Centre, Liverpool in 2007.
Dr Mills has a particular interest in coronary heart disease, heart failure, and metabolic syndrome. He offers a range of treatments, including cardioversion, coronary angioplasty, ECG monitoring, and exercise ECG. Dr Mills is also experienced in treating cardiac arrhythmias, chest pain, TAVI valve assessment, and treatment. He is committed to ongoing research and has recently been awarded a Cambridge University prize for his Doctorate of Medicine thesis. He hopes to continue both clinical and non-clinical research to benefit his patients in the North West. Dr Mills is highly respected in his field and is a Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians.

Meeting with Dr Joseph Mills came at a time where I needed answers that had remained unanswered during my previous NHS visits. He was very approachable which helped me to gain immediate trust in him. He explained everything very clearly and concisely which assisted in my understanding of my medical condition. The follow up appointment to receive my results was again very informative, timely and reassuring. I would highly recommend him as a trusted cardiologist with an excellent doctor-patient rapport hence my 5-star rating.
Dr Mills was very thorough and has a very welcoming approach to patients. He had a plan going forward with my Atrial Fibrillation as to the course of action when he received the results from my Echo Cardiogram. I feel well looked after and reassured.
Gave advice about condition arranged for further investigation and referral to another professional specialising in condition.
ì was put ar ease straight away. Dr Mills explained how my CT scan results were clear and my coranary parties were free from any calcium. We discussed coronary microvascuar dysfunction. He put me at ease on this and mentioned I did not have this as my pains are at rest rather when exerting myself. . He has now referred me with a gastrologist.
