I’m honestly very frustrated and upset with my experience today at Prime Medical in BurJuman. I came in for an ophthalmology appointment, around 2:40pm, hoping to receive proper care for an issue with my left eye. It was my first time booking with Dr. Jacob, as the eye specialist I usually visit near my area was not available. At first, everything seemed fine when I was called in, but as the consultation started, things quickly became disappointing. While I was explaining my concern, both the doctor and the nurse kept getting distracted with paperwork. I would be in the middle of speaking, then suddenly get cut off because they were focused on something else. Then, out of nowhere, the doctor would ask another question, only for the same thing to happen again. It felt like I never had the chance to fully explain what I was experiencing. During the examination, I felt like the check was rushed and not handled with proper care. At one point, the doctor pressed or squeezed my left eye—the same eye I came in concerned about, way too hard, and it actually caused me pain. Even now, I can still feel discomfort from it and my left eye is more blurry than ever. Before leaving, I quickly mentioned this, and instead of properly addressing it, I was just given eye drops. My eye has been experiencing redness on and off, and I often wake up with a lot of eye discharge. Sometimes, I cannot immediately open my left eye because of the dryness, it feels like it gets stuck for a while before it can open normally and comfortably. Since I have never experienced any issues with my eyesight before, I wanted to understand the diagnosis and what could be causing these symptoms. However, I booked a specialist only to be told that it was due to the weather and prolonged computer use at work. Another aspect that really concerned me was how everything seemed to revolve around insurance. I understand there are certain limitations, but it felt as though the quality of care was affected simply because I was using insurance. If patients are going to be treated differently on that basis, it raises the question of why insurance is accepted in the first place. I was told that certain medications couldn’t be prescribed because they weren’t covered, and that I would need to pay for them separately. This was repeated multiple times, even though I had already understood it the first time. I do understand the limitations of insurance, so that part is fine—but the way it was communicated felt dismissive, as if my concerns were not the priority. Overall, the entire experience felt rushed, inattentive, and careless. I left feeling unheard, uncomfortable, and honestly worse than when I arrived. This was one of the most disappointing medical experiences I’ve had.

I am writing to express my deep dissatisfaction with the unacceptable level of service I received at your clinic. I visited the clinic while I was feeling extremely unwell. After completing my consultation with the doctor, I requested that my sick leave certificate be attested. The receptionist informed me that the system was down and assured me that the certificate would be sent to my email later. Since then, I have called the clinic more than 15 times to follow up on my certificate. Every single time, I was transferred from one employee to another, with no one taking responsibility or providing any solution. This level of negligence, lack of professionalism, and complete disregard for patients is simply unacceptable. To make matters worse, there is no direct contact number for the clinic on Google Maps, forcing patients to call a separate call center. This makes communication unnecessarily difficult and frustrating, especially when urgent assistance is required. As a direct result of your staff’s failure to perform their duties, I am now at risk of having a day’s salary deducted because I have been unable to submit my sick leave certificate to my employer on time. This situation is entirely due to the clinic’s poor administration and the lack of cooperation from your employees. It is extremely disappointing that the payment for the service was collected without issue, yet when it comes to fulfilling a basic administrative request, patients are left chasing staff who appear unwilling to help. This level of service reflects very poorly on your clinic. I expect my sick leave certificate to be sent to me immediately, along with an explanation of why this matter was handled so carelessly. I also hope appropriate action will be taken to address the poor performance of the staff and improve the clinic’s communication and patient service to prevent others from experiencing the same treatment. I look forward to your prompt response and immediate resolution of this matter.

We are deeply disappointed from the service quality of the clinic and its staff. There is no empathy for us considering we are attending for appointments on our 2 months old baby…. Appointment cancellations because doctors have other priority surgeries (even our appointment was done several weeks in advance and the cancellation comes couple of days before our meeting…. That doesn’t is an emergency). Refusal to provide ECG as clinic has to get insurance approval (we understand and respect clinic processes, but that can be do in advance and not when we are at front desk waiting with our baby) and asking us to come back another day. Personnel who performed ECG was totally unfamiliar with the process, she was nervous and not having a clear idea on how and where to stick the anodes… later she manifested she was new at the position…. So, she was not competent enough to perform the role…. Doctor (cardiologist) left the facility before the ECG was done… he has some other “task” we were told we should get the doctor’s interpretation of the ECG next day…. But the call came 5 days later…. And that call was done by a nurse saying “we need to see a pediatrician cardiologist” and not giving any detail on why? Or what was wrong with the ECG….. and she replied… “it’s doctor’s recommendation”….. I asked if doctor was aware of the bad praxis when ECG was taken and nurse said “yes”….. how does a doctor in your clinic can make a recommendation knowing the ECG was not properly done? When ECG was performed by an incompetent person? Our experience in HSMC has been a disaster. You are only concerned of getting paid instead of proving a trusted advise on the health of our new born. The only professional who has shown professionalism and empathy is Dr Chiara, we will continue attending with her, but for any other requirement, we will seek for another clinic as we don’t tolerate lack of professionalism, competency and attention on our daughter’s wellbeing

This was the worst and fastest medical consultation I have ever experienced. Is it reasonable for a consultation with a doctor to last less than four minutes without even performing a physical examination or taking a proper look at the patient’s condition? The way I was treated was extremely disappointing. It felt as though the doctor was in a hurry and simply wanted to end the appointment as quickly as possible. He only told me, “Go get an X-ray quickly, we’re running out of time.” I left without having the X-ray. Although I paid for the consultation, I simply walked away because all I wanted was to leave the clinic. I will never return, and I would not recommend this center to anyone. Medicine is a profession built on care, attention, and respect for patients—not rushing people through appointments without proper assessment. Patients deserve to be listened to, examined, and treated with professionalism and compassion.
