Dr Mohamed Ismaiel

Dr. Mohamed Ismaiel is a highly experienced Specialist Neurologist with more than 16 years of clinical and academic experience, with particular expertise in Stroke and Vascular Neurology, Multiple Sclerosis and Neuroimmunology, and general neurology.

He holds a Master’s degree in Neurology and Psychiatry from Ain Shams University, where his academic work focused on the vascular aspects of Multiple Sclerosis. His postgraduate qualifications include Membership of the Royal College of Physicians of Ireland (MRCPI), the MRCP(UK) Specialty Certificate in Neurology, and the Fellowship of the European Board of Neurology (FEBN). He holds full registration with a licence to practise with the General Medical Council (GMC), United Kingdom

Dr. Ismaiel has undertaken advanced subspecialty training in cerebrovascular medicine and holds the Master of Advanced Studies (MAS) in Stroke Medicine from the University of Bern, Switzerland. This advanced qualification is complemented by the European Diploma in Ischemic Stroke Intervention (EDSI) and extensive clinical experience in acute stroke assessment, intravenous thrombolysis, patient selection for endovascular thrombectomy, cerebrovascular imaging, TIA evaluation, and secondary stroke prevention.

He also has a subspecialty focus on Multiple Sclerosis and Neuroimmunology and is a Multiple Sclerosis Certified Specialist (MSCS) through the Consortium of Multiple Sclerosis Centers. His practice includes the diagnosis and long term management of Multiple Sclerosis, relapse treatment, interpretation of neuroimaging and ancillary investigations, and the use and monitoring of contemporary disease-modifying therapies.

Beyond his subspecialty interests, Dr. Ismaiel has broad experience in the diagnosis and management of a wide range of neurological disorders, including migraine and other headache disorders, epilepsy and seizure disorders, dizziness and balance disorders, movement disorders, cognitive and memory disorders, peripheral neuropathies, neuromuscular disease, cervical and lumbar radiculopathy, spinal cord disorders, and acute neurological emergencies. He is also experienced in clinical neurophysiology, including EEG, nerve conduction studies, EMG, and evoked potentials.

Alongside his clinical practice, Dr. Ismaiel is actively involved in clinical research, multicenter neurological trials, and peer-reviewed publications, with a focus on stroke, thrombolysis, antiplatelet therapy, secondary prevention, and migraine treatment.

He also has experience in medical education, resident training, and healthcare leadership

Dr. Ismaiel regularly participates in regional and international scientific meetings and is affiliated with leading organizations including the World Stroke Organization, European Stroke Organisation, European Academy of Neurology, and Association of British Neurologists.
