OHI started its full-fledged operations in 2011 for serving the occupational health requirements of corporates located in United Arab Emirates and in GCC countries. Under the flagship of its parent company, Occucare International (OI), a US based occupational health clinic and Gulf Healthcare International (GHI), a pioneer in healthcare industry in UAE, OHI was established as the first dedicated occupational medicine facility in the United Arab Emirates.
Based in Dubai, OHI is led by a doctor specialized in Occupational Medicine, with more than 19 years of experience in Europe and UAE. With services provided at the Clinic location and at clients’ premises, its purpose is to improve the health and well-being of the patients, and to help employers to maintain the health and productivity of one of their most important assets, their people.
OHI Clinic is located in Deira, Dubai, Al Rigga Rd, Rigga Business Center, and is built in a 15000 sq. feet area, having the capacity to deal with high number of clients per day. All medical team at OHI is Dubai Health Authority (DHA) licensed and has experience with providing occupational health related medical services to local and international clients, preventive medical services, general medicals, adult vaccinations and travel medicine.
OHI Clinic is ISO 9001:2015 and OHSAS 18001:2007 certified (in process of transition to ISO 45001:2018). With a large clinic, located in an easily accessible area of Dubai, with the experience of a well-trained Occupational Health Team, supported by additional specialty departments such as Radiology, Dental, high tech Laboratory, Cardiology, Gynecology etc., OHI has the capacity to deal with high volumes of medical check-ups each day at the Clinic and at the Company’s premises, following strictly the rules and regulations of the country.
Being an ISO and OHSAS certified, OHI Clinic has established, implemented and maintains a Quality Management System and Health and Safety System and has Quality Manual, Safety Manual, Infection Control Manual, Standard Operating Procedures and Work Instructions etc. for the preparation of the daily activities. OHI has a Health and Safety Committee in function with the members being ISO and OHSAS certified, trained Internal Auditors, for formulating and regulating the rules and implementation of the same in the Clinic. OHI Clinic was awarded by Dubai Health Authority for recognition of excellence and compliance of “WEYAK” – Quality requirements.
OHI has on board, OGUK (formerly UKOOA) registered doctors those are certified to conduct oil and gas medicals. OHI has a Bermuda approved medical doctor to conduct seafarers’ medicals, according to Bermuda and ENG1 requirements. OHI is approved by Dubai Roads & Transport Authority for conducting medicals for commercial drivers. OHI is as well an approved by Dubai Health Authority as a Preventive Medicine/ Adult Vaccination Centre.
OHI works closely with the HR and HSE representatives of the Corporates and help them to optimize staff performance and productivity, increase retention of staff, reduction of sickness and absenteeism. OHI services assist the corporates and their employees on the mechanisms to cope with stress and changes in the workplace environment, to reduce injuries at work and improve morale of workers and thus increasing the productivity. OHI support the corporates to implement local and international occupational health standards within the working environment, to improve and maintain a healthy workforce.
OHI has a specialized team with many years of experience, providing occupational health related medical services, general medical services and adult vaccination/ travel medicine for employees/ patients located in UAE or traveling from/ to the Middle East, Europe, Africa, Australia, USA or Asia. OHI has access to the latest up-to-date information from the CDC, the World Health Organization and other travel databases to facilitate the proper recommendations for clients traveling all over the world. Advice and prescriptions can be given to guard against diseases that could be developed in specific geographic locations.
OHI has staff from different origin and can communicate in English, Arabic, German, Hindi/ Urdu, Malayalam, Tagalog, Romanian, and Russian. OHI’s official language for business purposes is English and all the staff have excellent command in written and spoken English language.
OHI have been successfully serving major multinational companies located within UAE, Oman, Kuwait and other countries. OHI also serve client’s candidates who are in transit through Dubai.
