My father was a surgeon, and growing up, I saw firsthand the impact he had on people’s lives — not just through his technical skill, but through the trust and confidence he inspired in patients. That early exposure sparked my interest in medicine. But as I progressed through my own training, I discovered that I was drawn to surgery not just because of him, but because I genuinely loved the precision, problem-solving, and immediate impact that surgery allows. Spinal surgery, in particular, combines technical complexity with the ability to dramatically improve quality of life — and that’s where I’ve found my own purpose
