Dr Nikolay Dimitrov

Dr Nikolay Dimitrov is a Consultant Neurologist with a specialist interest in movement disorders, including Parkinson's disease, Parkinsonian syndromes, tremor, dystonia and restless legs syndrome. He provides expert assessment, diagnosis and management of a wide range of neurological conditions, delivering personalised, evidence-based care tailored to each patient's individual needs.

Dr Dimitrov is a Consultant Neurologist at Lewisham and Greenwich NHS Trust and works closely with Professor K. Ray Chaudhuri as part of the King's College Hospital Centre of Excellence in Parkinson's and Movement Disorders. He leads a multidisciplinary team managing patients with movement disorders and Parkinson's disease and is a member of the Movement Disorder Society.

His clinical expertise includes advanced treatments for Parkinson's disease and movement disorders, including apomorphine injections, apomorphine pump therapy and deep brain stimulation. He also has extensive experience in the management of craniofacial and cervical dystonia, spasticity, chronic migraine using botulinum toxin injections, and other complex movement disorders.

Alongside his clinical practice, Dr Dimitrov is actively involved in neurological research. His work has included studies in Parkinson's disease, multiple sclerosis, motor neurone disease and neurodegenerative disorders, and he has contributed to numerous national and international research projects aimed at improving the understanding and treatment of movement disorders.
