About Professor Vik Khullar

Prof Vik Khullar is a consultant obstetrician and gynaecologist. He qualified in 1988 from King's College, University of London. Since then he has had over 30 years' experience in the field of obstetrics and gynaecology. As a skilled and highly trained surgeon, it should come as no surprise that he is an authority on all problems of the bladder, pelvic floor and prolapse.

He lectures nationally and internationally and is considered a leading figure in this field among his peers. He publishes widely and is the author of numerous papers and book chapters. Not only this, Mr Khullar also runs a large and successful research programme. He is a Reader at Imperial College, London, an honour which he has been awarded in recognition of his expertise. He was made Professor of Practice at Imperial College, London.

Mr Khullar has also been a consultant at St Mary's Hospital since 2000, a hospital where he established the Department of Urogynaecology (bladder and pelvic floor disorders) with referrals both locally, nationally and worldwide.

Owing to his medical expertise and extensive clinical experience, Mr Khullar is highly respected among his peers. He established a national NHS referral centre as well as setting up a private practice seeing patients on a national and international basis. He was vice-chairman of BSUG, an expert advisor for NICE and vice chairman of the NIHR womens specialist committee.
