About Mr David Campbell

Mr. James Campbell undertook his initial medical training at The University of Dundee (MBChB) and qualified in 1983. He decided to pursue a career in Obstetrics and Gynaecology and became a fellow of the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists (FRCOG) in 2001. After spending nearly 10 years in both clinical and academic posts in London (King's College Hospital and St Bartholomew's Hospital), he relocated to Leeds in 1993. He started work at St James's University Hospital and now currently work for Leeds Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust as well as the Spire and Nuffield Hospitals in Leeds.

Mr. Campbell specialises in general gynaecological surgery with specific interest in menstrual disorders, fibroids, endometriosis, ovarian cysts, menopause and some urogynaecology. He performs laparoscopic (keyhole) surgeries including hysterectomy and hysteroscopic procedures under local and general anaesthetic. He also carries out surgeries for prolapse. Between 2015-2018 he was lead clinician for gynaecology at Leeds Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust.

Mr. Campbell has an active private practice based at Spire Leeds Hospital and Nuffield Health Leeds Hospital. He is referred patients from across the Yorkshire region and many of these follow recommendations from previous patients.

In addition, he also carries out medico-legal work and is a member of the Society of Expert Witnesses.
