About Mr Winston Justin
Mr Winston Justin is a highly experienced Consultant Gynaecologist with specialist expertise in advanced minimal access (keyhole) gynaecology, fertility, and gynaecological oncology. He sees private patients at The Duchy Hospital in Harrogate, where he is widely respected for delivering personalised, comprehensive care tailored to each woman’s needs.
Mr Justin completed his medical degree at Kilpauk Medical College in Chennai, India, followed by postgraduate training at the prestigious Madras Medical College, one of the busiest teaching hospitals in the country. His dedication to women’s health led him to pursue specialist training in the UK, culminating in a Certificate of Completion of Training (CCT) under the London Deanery.
He further refined his skills in infertility and assisted conception during a fellowship at the Centre for Reproductive Medicine at St Bartholomew’s Hospital in London. His strong interest in minimally invasive surgery led him to undertake advanced training in laparoscopic and hysteroscopic procedures, learning from leading experts in the UK, France, Germany, Italy, and India.
In 2009, Mr Justin was appointed Consultant Gynaecologist at Southend University Hospital, Essex, with a focus on fertility and keyhole surgery. Since 2016, he has been based at Harrogate District Hospital, where he specialises in minimally invasive procedures and is the lead clinician for gynaecological oncology.
A passionate educator, Mr Justin is an Honorary Senior Lecturer at Anglia Ruskin University and has played a key role in the MCh programme in Minimal Access and Robotic Surgery. He also supervises senior trainees undertaking the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists (RCOG) Advanced Training Skills Module (ATSM) in gynaecological surgery. He regularly speaks and teaches at national and international conferences and has authored numerous peer-reviewed papers and book chapters.

I had a laparoscopy and hysteroscopy to investigate long-term pelvic pain, during which adhesions, likely caused by a previous pelvic infection, were identified and removed. My care was excellent. During consultations, Mr Justin was attentive, took the time to listen to my concerns, and explained everything clearly. I felt fully informed and reassured, with a clear understanding of the possible causes of my symptoms and the options available to me. I received a date for surgery quickly, which helped ease my anxiety. On the day of the procedure, the entire team was incredibly caring, supportive, and reassuring, making me feel comfortable and well looked after. Post-surgery feedback and follow-up consultation were equally positive. Everything was explained clearly, and I left feeling reassured about the outcome. My recovery has been quick, and I am already experiencing a noticeable reduction in pain. Overall, I am very grateful for the high standard of care I received.

I attended my appointment regarding large fibroids. I was very apprehensive prior to my appointment but Mr Justin made me feel at ease immediately. The outcome is a hysterectomy, I am concerned about the operation which is natural, but I feel that I will be in very safe hands. I would recommend Mr Justin to anyone, he is very understanding and kind who really cares about his patients.
