About Mr Winston Justin
Mr Winston Justin is a highly experienced Consultant Gynaecologist with specialist expertise in advanced minimal access (keyhole) gynaecology, fertility, and gynaecological oncology. He sees private patients at The Duchy Hospital in Harrogate, where he is widely respected for delivering personalised, comprehensive care tailored to each woman’s needs.
Mr Justin completed his medical degree at Kilpauk Medical College in Chennai, India, followed by postgraduate training at the prestigious Madras Medical College, one of the busiest teaching hospitals in the country. His dedication to women’s health led him to pursue specialist training in the UK, culminating in a Certificate of Completion of Training (CCT) under the London Deanery.
He further refined his skills in infertility and assisted conception during a fellowship at the Centre for Reproductive Medicine at St Bartholomew’s Hospital in London. His strong interest in minimally invasive surgery led him to undertake advanced training in laparoscopic and hysteroscopic procedures, learning from leading experts in the UK, France, Germany, Italy, and India.
In 2009, Mr Justin was appointed Consultant Gynaecologist at Southend University Hospital, Essex, with a focus on fertility and keyhole surgery. Since 2016, he has been based at Harrogate District Hospital, where he specialises in minimally invasive procedures and is the lead clinician for gynaecological oncology.
A passionate educator, Mr Justin is an Honorary Senior Lecturer at Anglia Ruskin University and has played a key role in the MCh programme in Minimal Access and Robotic Surgery. He also supervises senior trainees undertaking the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists (RCOG) Advanced Training Skills Module (ATSM) in gynaecological surgery. He regularly speaks and teaches at national and international conferences and has authored numerous peer-reviewed papers and book chapters.

My experience with Mr. Justin, and his team overall, has been outstanding; professional, whilst being personable and kind, everything explained in a way I could process and understand, and I was given autonomy over how I wanted to go ahead with the procedure I needed.
Having been under Mr Justin’s care for 5 years, following a tubo ovarian abscess and pelvic inflammatory disease, stemming from my appendix (all successfully resolved), I decided to undergo a total laparoscopic hysterectomy as a result of ongoing symptoms caused by adenomyosis. Mr Justin’s care, expertise, knowledge and meticulous approach throughout has been invaluable to me, enabling me to make informed decisions, prepare for the surgery and recover well, to achieve the best outcome. The follow up consultation (7 weeks post surgery) provided me with further information and reassurance about the surgery, and certain answers that provided, and the confidence that I can now move on from the issues of the past 5 years. I would (and have) trusted Mr Justin with my life. He is a superb consultant and surgeon, a consummate professional and a caring, kind person.
Mr. Justin listened carefully to me and had a very caring and considerate manner. He frequently asked how I was and if I was ok when treating me. He asked for a nurse to help me with routine needs.
As always Mr Justin listened and understood the issues.
I found Mr Justin very pleasant and easy to talk to . My appointment was on time. And I didn’t feel rushed so plenty of time to ask questions which he answered and explained very well.
I’ve had two operations with Mr Justin and both have been successful
Repeat customer! While I might have bad luck gynaecologically, I seem to have good luck when it came to my local BUPA gynaecology consultant. Mr Justin is incredibly patient and knowledgeable and has so much time for his patients. When it comes to this particular area, it is perhaps the most important thing that you feel comfortable with your doctor, and that’s never been a concern with Mr Justin. All of our consultations have been helpful and I have never left feeling ignored or confused about anything.
