About Mr Winston Justin
Mr Winston Justin is a highly experienced Consultant Gynaecologist with specialist expertise in advanced minimal access (keyhole) gynaecology, fertility, and gynaecological oncology. He sees private patients at The Duchy Hospital in Harrogate, where he is widely respected for delivering personalised, comprehensive care tailored to each woman’s needs.
Mr Justin completed his medical degree at Kilpauk Medical College in Chennai, India, followed by postgraduate training at the prestigious Madras Medical College, one of the busiest teaching hospitals in the country. His dedication to women’s health led him to pursue specialist training in the UK, culminating in a Certificate of Completion of Training (CCT) under the London Deanery.
He further refined his skills in infertility and assisted conception during a fellowship at the Centre for Reproductive Medicine at St Bartholomew’s Hospital in London. His strong interest in minimally invasive surgery led him to undertake advanced training in laparoscopic and hysteroscopic procedures, learning from leading experts in the UK, France, Germany, Italy, and India.
In 2009, Mr Justin was appointed Consultant Gynaecologist at Southend University Hospital, Essex, with a focus on fertility and keyhole surgery. Since 2016, he has been based at Harrogate District Hospital, where he specialises in minimally invasive procedures and is the lead clinician for gynaecological oncology.
A passionate educator, Mr Justin is an Honorary Senior Lecturer at Anglia Ruskin University and has played a key role in the MCh programme in Minimal Access and Robotic Surgery. He also supervises senior trainees undertaking the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists (RCOG) Advanced Training Skills Module (ATSM) in gynaecological surgery. He regularly speaks and teaches at national and international conferences and has authored numerous peer-reviewed papers and book chapters.

Mr Justin has a very calming manner and puts you at ease straight away. Mr Justin on the day of the operation explained everything in detail and checked later in the day I was alright and to say it all went well, he also checked the following day. Mr Justin also sent me information on how the recovery should be and how to follow the recovery information to help get back to normal which I found very useful. The whole experience was very professional.
Mr Justin came across as exceptionally experienced, personable and a highly reassuring consultant. He explained clearly, after examination, that he can perform my hysterectomy via keyhole, which was fantastic news due to thinking I would need an open abdominal surgery due to a 14 week size bulky fibroid uterus. He listened carefully and left me feeling safe and confident ahead of my operation.
I’ve always had a very positive experience with Mr Justin. He is professional, kind, and always makes me feel comfortable and at ease during my appointments. I really appreciate how approachable and reassuring he is, and I feel confident knowing I’m in good hands. I would highly recommend him to anyone looking for a caring and trustworthy gynaecologist
