Mr Stephen Wild

Mr. Stephen Wild is a Consultant in Obstetrics and Gynaecology with over 18 years of experience in the field. He graduated from the University of Leeds in 1997. Originally from Harrogate, Mr. Wild trained in several hospitals across North and West Yorkshire, as well as the North East of England.  In addition to his NHS work, he has worked in the private sector for over 17 years, maintaining a high satisfaction rate and a low surgical complication rate. He prides himself on providing a highly personalised and professional service. He also ensures that administration and communication are optimal with direct contact when required, rather than through his secretary.

Mr. Wild has been a Consultant Obstetrician and Gynaecologist since November 2006, providing care at both the University Hospital of North Tees and the University Hospital of Hartlepool. He was also the Clinical Director for Obstetrics and Gynaecology at both trusts for a 5 year tenure and was the Clinical Lead for the Delivery Suite for over 10 years. He is currently the Governance Lead for his service at the Trust. Since 2007, Mr. Wild has been providing a private gynaecology service - he first started at the Nuffield Health Tees Hospital, but now also works out of the Duchy Hospital in Harrogate and the Tees Valley Hospital in Acklam, Middlesbrough.

His clinical expertise spans various areas of obstetrics and gynaecology, with a special focus on menstrual problems, ovarian cysts, fibroids and pelvic pain. He is particularly skilled in treating heavy menstrual bleeding and regularly performs Mirena intra-uterine device fittings and the Novasure endometrial ablation technique, which he uses with great success for managing abnormal bleeding. Additionally, Mr. Wild performs major gynaecological surgeries, both laparoscopically and open, including hysterectomy and pelvic floor repair for genital prolapse. Please note that Mr Wild does not undertake reversal of sterilisation, labiaplasty or colposcopy. Although he is able to provide advice and initial treatments for urinary incontinence, any specialist investigations or surgical procedures would require onward referral.
