About Mr Abbas Rashid

Abbas Rashid is a graduate of Imperial College having obtained a distinction in MBBS as well as a 1st class honours degree in Orthopaedics. In 2012, Abbas was awarded the Fellowship of the Royal College of Surgeons after he completed his training in the North West Thames Rotation.

On the other hand, since 2014, he has appeared on the GMC's specialist register since 2014. Further, he did his upper limb fellowships in Wrightington while in Hannover, Germany, he did an AO Trauma Fellowship. Abbas received an award by the British Orthopaedic Association; the Zimmer Upper Extremities Awards. As such he received travelling fellowships to Harvard, The Mayo Clinic as well as at St Michaels Hospital in North America. At UCLH in 2016, he was appointed as a Shoulder and Elbow Consultant surgeon.

The scope of Abbas' work revolves around the evidence-based treatment of complex trauma, sports injuries in addition to degenerative conditions of the upper limb. On the other hand, he is interested in postgraduate education and as such has been invited in different regions as well as national courses on FRCS- trauma and upper limb surgery. As his hobby, he loves rowing, golfing and Formula 1.
