About Mr Roland Walker

Mr Walker has a wealth of experience in the diagnosis and treatment of foot and ankle disorders. Having been a Teaching Hospital specialist at Guys and St Thomas’ since 2015, he has built a significant tertiary elective practice, managing complex foot and ankle injuries as well as arthritis, neuromuscular deformities and common presentations such as bunions and toe deformities. Particular interests include ankle replacement and the revision of failing implants and Mr Walker is part of a network of UK surgeons pioneering 3D printed patient-customised implants for these challenging cases.

Mr Walker enjoys training Fellows and Registrars and convenes a highly rated Foot and Ankle Cadaveric Surgery course, as well as teaching on a number of other courses and faculties. His approach to the discipline of foot and ankle surgery is to work collaboratively with patients, to educate and empower individuals to make the decisions and lifestyle choices that will optimise their own health and wellbeing.

I broke my left ankle in two places during a fall. I was guided to reach out to Mr Walker and I am so grateful to have found him. He is the perfect blend of expertise and care. He explained everything carefully and thoroughly at each stage, sharing comprehensive summary letters following consultations and the procedure . He was patient and kind. The surgery was a success and I am well on my way to full recovery. Highly recommend

After diagnosing to an Achilles rupture, mr walker managed to find a slot for me to perform an open surgery in a timely manner potentially after working hours at 8pm. The reassurance and professionalism he displayed was top class. He also explained the reason for surgery after my MRI scan which was done the same day after the initial consultation. Everything went very quickly and smoothly, and my recovery has been successful. The scar healing is very good and I am now walking freely again. Thank you for the care , professionalism , and surgical skill that mr walker provided. I would Reccomend him to anyone who requires an Achilles tendon repair.

Mr Walker stepped in at short notice to perform foot surgery when a colleague became unavailable. Mr Walker explained everything with much more clarity than any other doctor I have come across, and seemed sincerely interested in coming to the right solution for the patient, rather than imposing his views.

I went in to see Dr Walker with a long-standing toe injury. He was very personable and Knowledgeable and explained my options, steps and risks involved. I was able to get a cheilectomy operation booked in very quickly with him, and now three months post operation has been an overwhelming success. I would highly recommend Dr Roland Walker and the Fortius clinic in general.
