Mr George Boundouki

Mr George Boundouki is an Oncoplastic Breast Surgeon who has carried out more than 1,000 cancer operations since joining the breast unit of Sheffield’s Royal Hallamshire Hospital in 2020.

A 2004 graduate from the nersity of Liverpool, Mr Boundouki completed his surgical training in the Northwest of England and was awarded a Doctorate’s degree (PhD) by the University of London in 2015. He was granted a research fellowship by the Royal
College of Surgeons and obtained two travel grants to present his research
findings in Sweden and Italy. He was one of only nine surgeons to undertake the
prestigious national TiG Oncoplastic Breast Fellowship in 2019.

Mr Boundouki is the clinical lead and medical quality lead for breast surgery and the surgical lead for breast cancer screening in Sheffield. He is an honorary senior lecturer and examiner at the University of Sheffield.

As a fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons of England, Mr Boundouki reviews grant applications for breast cancer research. He is also a recognised trainer by the General Medical Council and the principal investigator in Sheffield for the international breast
surgical trial ATNEC.

Mr Boundouki has authored a number of papers, including on wound healing and recovery after breast reconstruction surgery.
