I was very well looked after all the way through. From Reception st Thornbury up to Richard himself. Everyone was very professional, and a pleasure to be around.

Was treated for an inguinal hernia repair . From the get go the consultation was really informative and explained thoroughly what the issues and solutions were. The surgery was a breeze I was made to feel very comfortable and given all the correct guidance for recovery. 6 weeks on I am back to normal , pain free and very grateful for the service I have received.

Mr Slater did a good job of my procedure. I left hospital knowing what to expect during recuperation. My follow up appointment was very informative and reassuring. All in all I was treated with care, dignity and respect. A very professional and kind man.

Mr Slater took time to take my medical history, find out my expectations from surgery and to understand a little about my life in general. He explained clearly the procedure he intended to perform, going into possible risks and "downsides" as well as positive outcomes & benefits. He had an appealing light touch when explaining or detailing medical matters. He was amusingly apologetic when mentioning my age - he really need not have been! It was reassuring to speak with him , and indeed, the anaesthetist, before going into surgery. It would seem he did an excellent job. The problem has been removed, I had very adequate pain relief and after a 2nd night in hospital, I was able to return home, having seen Mr Slater before I went.
