Made me feel very comfortable at all times, very well looked after throughout the whole experience and was available for any questions I had no matter how big or small. I’m very happy with the result of my surgery with Professor Ben Miranda and the experience I’ve had throughout the whole process. From my first consultation, Professor Miranda was very straightforward about what the surgery would involve, the recovery and what I could realistically expect from the final result. I really appreciated that he gave me a realistic idea of the process from the beginning, rather than making everything sound easier than it would be. I had a mastopexy with auto-augmentation and torso liposuction. One thing I probably didn’t fully appreciate beforehand was how significant the scars would look on my body, and initially this was something I found difficult. However, Professor Miranda had always emphasised how important aftercare and scar care would be, and I think this has made a big difference to my recovery. My recovery has also been much quicker and smoother than I expected. I had no bleeding or complications, my wounds healed very well, I had no issues with my scars and I wasn’t in pain for long. Considering the extent of the surgery, I feel like I had a very speedy recovery, which I’m sure is also a reflection of Professor Miranda’s experience and expertise. What stood out to me throughout the process was how committed and meticulous Professor Miranda is. It’s clear that he takes a lot of pride in his work and is very focused on achieving the best possible result. I felt no trepidation going for a Blepharoplasty, it was my choice based on a friend's recommendation and her results. . The procedure went smoothly and healed within a week. I had two simultaneous surgeries done by Professor Ben Miranda, one was a big procedure to restore my abdominal area after previously having open surgery on the NHS 3 years earlier to remove large uterine fibroids and hysterectomy. During the 3 years before having the surgery from Professor Miranda, I had often felt self conscious of my abdominal area and wore only loose fitting clothes to cover it up. I avoided some activities completely. There was loose skin from where the fibroids had stretched it and it bulged in unnatural places, there was also really bad thick vertical scarring as the original surgery had used large non dissolving stitches and was done in a hurry. It felt like a car crash and I mostly avoided looking at it. It definitely was a barrier to intimacy. The surgery I had done was the fleur de lis abdominoplasty (tummy tuck with vertical and horizontal incisions) which included liposuction. I also had a small corrective labiplasty done. The surgery was something I definitely needed to do in order to move forward with my life and Professor Miranda explained the whole procedure clearly from the initial consultation. He also gave other options and explained that the results would be different depending on the procedure I chose. I found him to be highly professional, very thorough, diligent, caring and knowledgeable. I could see that he wanted to give patients the best results possible and knew he had performed these procedures many times before and so I knew I was in safe hands.
