Dr Vernika Sharma

Dr Vernika Sharma is a Consultant Obstetrician and Gynaecologist who provides comprehensive, patient-centred healthcare for women across all stages of reproductive life. Her clinical practice encompasses general gynaecology and specialist obstetric care, with a strong commitment to empowering patients through clear communication, informed choice, and evidence-based clinical standards. Dr Sharma places a primary emphasis on proactive management and multidisciplinary collaboration, aiming to deliver reassuring and empathetic care tailored to each individual's unique health needs.

Dr Sharma earned her Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) before obtaining postgraduate credentials, including the Diploma of the Faculty of Family Planning (DFFP) and Membership of the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists (MRCOG). She completed higher postgraduate training in obstetrics and gynaecology, completing advanced training modules in labour ward management, colposcopy, and urogynaecology. Her comprehensive training also includes specialist clinical experience within dedicated gynaecological oncology units. Dr Sharma is a member of the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists and is fully accredited by the British Society for Colposcopy and Cervical Pathology.

Her clinical interests focus on optimising intrapartum care, enhancing perinatal outcomes, and overseeing maternity risk management, including lead reviews for major obstetric haemorrhages. As an accredited colposcopist, Dr Sharma offers expert diagnostic evaluations and therapeutic treatments for women presenting with abnormal cervical screening results. She works collaboratively alongside neonatal and surgical teams to promote clinical excellence, proactive complications prevention, and high-quality care that prioritises safety and patient well-being throughout pregnancy and childbirth.
