Miss Shahnaz Akbar
is a Consultant specialising in Gynaecology, Obstetrics and Reproductive Medicine
Surgery. She provides a patient-centred and holistic approach for her patients
to help them feel comfortable in a professional environment. She always takes
into consideration the needs of her patients and uses this to provide
patient-tailored treatments.

She has specialist
interests in the following areas:

· Fertility treatments (IUI. IVF.ICSI,IMSI, FET /Frozen embryo transfer/ Egg donation/
Sperm donation/ Micro-TESE, PESA/cycle tracking &monitoring/Ovulation
Induction/ HyCosy & HSG for fallopian tubal check /supporting couples who are having fertility treatments abroad by
offering ultrasound scanning, prescriptions / medications etc.).

Miss Akbar currently practices at OSD Healthcare (Hemel Hampsted), Spire Halthcare (Harpenden ), Ramsay West Valley Hospital (Croydon), Cobham Clinic Luton & Dunstable Hospital (Luton), Harley Street consulting rooms (Bedford), including remote / video consultations.

Miss Akbar qualified in 1984 from the University of Karachi in Pakistan, before undertaking her medical training in London. She trained in several teaching hospitals in London including Guy's and St Thomas', King's College, St Georges and Bart's and the
London Hospital. Alongside her training, she completed an MSc in Ultrasound
Scanning at London Southbank University, as well counselling qualifications.

She was first appointed as a Consultant at King's College London (gynaecology and IVF/Fertility) and then moved to the Luton and Dunstable Hospital where currently works , at Luton & Dunstable hospital Miss Akbar developed and esatblised a brand new IVF / Fertility centre.Furthermore, she is dedicated
to providing teaching and training to other Gynaecologists. She possess skills and qualifications in medical education.She is a Royal
College tutor in the Advanced Training Skills Module in Subfertility and Reproductive
Endocrinology , Gynaecological ultrasound scanning and is also actively involved in research.

Her interests include Infertility,fibroids, PCOS, early pregnancy, menopause, laparoscopy, ultrasound scanning, endometriosis, recurrent miscarriages
and adolescent gynaecology.

Miss Akbar also provides, NIPT /Harmony testduring pregnancy, as well as resurrance ultrasound scanning during pregnancy.
