Dr Sumita Bhuiya

Dr Sumita Bhuiya is a highly accomplished Consultant Obstetrician and Gynaecologist who also serves as a Clinical Director. She is dedicated to providing patient-centred, compassionate care to women throughout their healthcare journeys. With a focus on clinical excellence and safety, she works collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams to ensure that patients receive individualised support tailored to their unique needs.

Her clinical interests span a wide range of essential services within women's health. Dr Bhuiya has a particular focus on obstetrics, reproductive medicine, infertility, and early pregnancy care. Additionally, she serves as a Gynaecological Oncology Lead, specialising in early gynaecological cancer surgery. Her commitment to patient care is reflected in her active involvement in clinical governance, service improvement, and the implementation of advanced care pathways.

Dr Bhuiya completed her early education in Bedfordshire before earning her medical degree from the University of Calcutta. She qualified in 2000, obtaining her Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) and a Diploma in Gynaecology and Obstetrics (DGO). She went on to complete her postgraduate training through the Yorkshire Deanery, achieving membership of the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists (MRCOG). Furthermore, she conducted advanced research at the University of Leeds, culminating in a Doctor of Medicine (MD) degree.
