Dr Stephen Mitchell

Dr Stephen Mitchell is a dedicated Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon specialising in complex trauma and limb reconstruction. Focusing on restoring mobility and physical function, he provides expert care for patients experiencing severe lower limb injuries, structural deformities, and complicated bone conditions. His objective and patient-focused approach ensures that individuals facing challenging orthopaedic conditions receive clear guidance and high-quality, personalised treatment.

Within his clinical practice, Dr Mitchell manages a wide range of elective and emergency orthopaedic procedures. His areas of clinical expertise include complex lower limb trauma, peri-articular fractures, fracture-related infections, non-union of fractures, and implant failure. He also provides specialised care for lower limb deformities, leg length discrepancies, post-traumatic deformities, and longstanding bone infections, alongside performing total hip replacements and hip hemiarthroplasty. Additionally, Dr Mitchell employs advanced reconstructive techniques, including computerised hexapod-assisted orthopaedic surgery.

Dr Mitchell earned his Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery (MBChB) medical degree and successfully completed specialist postgraduate surgical training. He is a Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons (Trauma and Orthopaedics).
