Knee Specialists

Knee Specialists is a dedicated knee surgery service based in Bristol. The group forms part of The Bristol Knee Group, working across both the NHS and private sector to manage routine and complex knee problems.

The surgeons operate from the facilities at Spire Bristol Hospital and Nuffield Health Hospital, providing a specialist service focused exclusively on the knee. Their experience spans a wide range of orthopaedic procedures including arthroscopic surgery, ligament reconstruction, cartilage and meniscus repair and transplantation, osteotomy, and partial and total knee replacement.

Patients can be referred by a GP, physiotherapist or self-refer directly. Following an initial consultation, investigations such as MRI may be arranged. Treatment plans prioritise individual needs, with non-operative options explored where appropriate. When surgery is required, risks, recovery times and alternative approaches are discussed in detail, and a pre-operative assessment is carried out to support patient safety. The team manages all major knee conditions including anterior and posterior cruciate ligament injuries, meniscal injuries, joint surface damage, patellar instability, patellar tendinopathy, iliotibial band friction syndrome, patellofemoral pain syndrome and osteoarthritis of the knee.
