He also has a speciality practice in managing patellofemoral pain and instability, and recieves referrals from across the country for this.
Raised in Bristol, Mr. Smith graduated from Imperial College London Medical School in 2009. He completed his specialist orthopaedic training through the prestigious Severn Deanery training programme. His expertise was further enhanced through two years of subspecialty fellowship training—first in major orthopaedic trauma in Calgary, Canada, and then in knee replacement, sports knee surgery, and the management of patellofemoral disorders at the Robert Jones and Agnes Hunt Orthopaedic Hospital in Oswestry.

Mr Smith has been excellent throughout my surgery (knee replacement). He very clearly explained the different treatment options and also gave a very thorough description of his recommendation. This high quality continued throughout my surgery. I strongly recommend him.
James was really helpful from diagnosis through to surgery. He explained what was wrong and made me feel at ease about surgery. He was happy to show me scans and explained everything in understandable language but wasn't patronising. He came across as knowledgeable and caring. Would highly recommend James, and if I require any more procedures of this nature would go back to Mr Smith.

Mr Smith was clear from the start as to what could and couldn’t be achieved via surgery, the parking at the hospital is ample for patients, the staff were all amazing before, during and after surgery, the meals provided were of restaurant quality. I would highly recommend Mr Smith for any knee surgery requirements or just advice, he is a very approachable chap, I know of three other patients from my area that have had surgeries with Mr Smith and all of us have had first class recoveries.
All visits have been great. I felt well informed before and after surgery. Mr Smith demostrated great level of professionalism and knowledge about issue and clearly explained pros/cons surgery and treatment.
