Mr Sohail Ahmed

Mr Sohail Ahmed is an experienced Consultant Ophthalmologist with a broad clinical practice spanning general ophthalmology, cataract surgery and the management of retinal and ocular motility disorders. He is a longstanding member of the ophthalmic team at United Lincolnshire Hospitals NHS Trust (ULHT) and has recently joined the Ophthalmic team at the Boston NHS Treatment Centre.

Mr Ahmed completed his medical degree (MB BS) at the University of Karachi in 1980 before undertaking specialist ophthalmic training at Ninewells Hospital and Medical School, which he completed in 1994. He later pursued a Retina Fellowship at the Queen’s Medical Centre in Nottingham in 2006, where he further refined his expertise in medical and surgical retinal disease. His career has also included posts at Whipps Cross and Harold Wood Hospitals in London.

A highly skilled general ophthalmologist, Mr Ahmed has particular proficiency in phacoemulsification cataract surgery, delivering consistently excellent outcomes for his patients. His specialist interests include retinal disorders, glaucoma, paediatric ophthalmology and ocular motility conditions, allowing him to provide comprehensive care for both adults and children with complex visual problems.
