About Mr Sam Jain
Mr Sam Jain is a consultant orthopaedic surgeon with a specialist interest in hip and knee replacement surgery.
His practice is based at Leeds Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust and Nuffield Health Leeds Hospital where he treats a variety of hip and knee conditions. Mr Jain offers robotic-assisted hip replacement surgery at Nuffield Health Leeds Hospital. He is fully accredited to use the Stryker MAKO system which is at the forefront of robotic technology and has been shown to improve implant positioning accuracy.
He has a keen interest in enhanced recovery and has recently introduced a successful day case pathway for patients having hip and knee replacement surgery in Leeds. He also has significant experience in treating patients with problematic hip replacements and offers the full range of reconstructive options for revision hip replacement surgery.
Mr Jain has an acomplished research portfolio and has authored over 40 scientific articles in peer reviewed journals and textbooks. He has a particular academic interest in the prevention and management of complications of joint replacement surgery and has recently completed a PhD on periprosthetic fractures following hip replacement surgery.
He graduated from medical school at University of Leeds in 2005 and then trained in Trauma & Orthopaedic surgery throughout Yorkshire. He completed his subspecialty training in 2017 and then undertook fellowship training in Leeds, Northumbria and at the internationally renowned Wrightington Hospital. In addition to his clinical practice, he is an Honorary Senior Lecturer at University of Leeds and a surgical trainer. He is also an active member of the British Hip Society and was a founding member of its award-winning Culture & Diversity committee.

I had my operation on Saturday 14th February, the operation went well, I went home on the Sunday, with crutches. I felt well and was walking quite well,. after about 2 weeks I experienced a Stitch ulcer that was beginning to fester, I attended the outpatients, with Mr Jain Being aware of my situation, I had blood test to check on the infection, and was constantly monitored, until it cleared!! The care and concern was quite something! Now I don’t even think about my hip, I I can walk with pain!! Thank you to all concerned !

I wish to express my deepest gratitude for my life changing hip replacement surgery. Before this operation I was in excruciating pain. I was unable to walk my dog and became practically house bound as well as struggling with Day to day tasks . The quality of life i have now is truly overwhelming . Dr Jain has given me my life back with his incredible skill . Because of his talent and dedication i am now able to walk pain free and i am now embracing a new chapter in my life . His patience and kindness and information made my visit so much easier . I can't praise him enough and he is a priceless asset to any hospital he works for .
I recently had a Robotic Hip Replacement with Mr Jain. I was very anxious about having the operation. Mr Jain was extremely professional and explained in detail the whole procedure so I understood. The operation was a complete success and it’s very clear to me he has a passion and skill for orthopaedic surgery. I am extremely happy with my new hip and chose Mr Jain as my Surgeon
