About Mr Amol R Chitre
Mr Amol Chire is an experienced Orthopaedic Surgeon. Amol specialises in hip and knee surgery. He is fellowship trained in hip and knee replacement and revision surgery as well as Pelvic and Acetabular Trauma.
Amol is a high volume hip and knee surgeon, working predominantly within a specialist Orthopaedic Unit. As part of the North West Pelvic and Acetabular Trauma Unit, he takes referrals on complex hip problems and fractures from the North West region.
He also continues an interest in Major Trauma, working as Major Trauma Clinical Lead for the Lancashire and South Cumbria Major Trauma Centre. In addition, he has a role with NHS England as a peer reviewer for Trauma services across the country.
Amol is committed to furthering surgical teaching and excellence, serving on the regional Specialist Training Committee and is regularly invited to teach at Regional, National and International Courses.
In his spare time he is a sports enthusiast, enjoying skiing, cricket, football and hockey.
