Mr Saif Azzawi is a fully licenced consultant plastic reconstructive and aesthetic surgeon based in London and Suffolk. Mr Azzawi performs cosmetic and reconstructive procedures at Harley Medical Group, BMI St Edmunds Hospital and The West Suffolk NHS Hospital in Bury St Edmunds.

Mr Azzawi has trained both in the UK and in Australia and has over 10 years of highly specialised training completed in London, Melbourne, Sydney and Adelaide.

He is on the General Medical Council's specialist register for plastic surgery and has won the fellowship award from the British Association of Aesthetic Plastic Surgeons of which he is a member. He is also a member of the International Society of Aesthetic Plastic Surgery and is on the plastic surgery committee in the Royal Society of Medicine.

Currently, Mr Azzawi works as consultant plastic surgeon in the NHS at West Suffolk Hospital where he is part of the skin cancer multidisciplinary team with a specialist interest in complex skin cancer reconstruction, and facial reanimation. He also collaborates with surgeons from other specialties to provide reconstruction service to the complex cases.

Saif works in private practice at the BMI Bury St Edmunds Hospital. He splits his time between his family, his clinic plastic surgery practice and his Army reserve commitments where he is a comissioned officer.

Qualifications

Saif was educated at the University of Glasgow and graduated with honours, he completed his initial surgical training in Glasgow and in Manchester training in general surgery, orthopaedics and ">plastic surgery before becoming a member of the ">Royal College of Surgeons in 2012. He was then admitted to the highly competitive speciality training program in plastic surgery In London, where he worked in world leading units in plastic and reconstructive surgery"> plastic and reconstructive surgery including the Royal Free Hospital London, St George's Hospital, Chelsea and Westminister Hospital and St Thomas Hospital. He was then awarded the fellowship in Plastic Surgery (FRCS Plast) from the Royal College of Surgeons.

To further advance his skills and knowledge, Saif went to Australia and has completed the advanced aesthetic plastic surgery fellowship, specialising facial and breast cosmetic procedures at the Melbourne Institute of Plastic Surgery. He also completed a body contouring and breast surgery fellowship in Sydney and a microsurgery fellowship in Adelaide that specialised in head and neck cancer and breast reconstruction.

He is on the General Medical Council's specialist register for plastic surgery and has won the fellowship award from the British Association of Aesthetic Plastic Surgeons of which he is a member. He is also a member of the International Society of Aesthetic Plastic Surgery and is on the plastic surgery committee in the Royal Society of Medicine.

Throughout his career Mr Azzawi has had a collaborative academic interest in facial reanimation trauma and aesthetic surgery, where he researched published and presented his work in the UK and abroad, this has won a number of awards including the president's prize at the international royal medical services meeting for his work on facial reanimation surgery.
