About Dr. Ruhi Jawad
Dr. Ruhi Jawad is a Consultant in Integrated Sexual and Reproductive Health with extensive experience and training in Obstetrics and Gynaecology, Sexual and Reproductive Health, and Forensic Gynaecology. Since beginning her career in the NHS in 1999, Dr. Jawad has held various positions across the UK and actively engaged in teaching and training.
Specialising in all aspects of contraception, Dr. Jawad focuses on providing Long Acting Reversible Contraception (LARC) under local anaesthesia, including coils and implants. She adeptly manages both routine and complex cases, addressing medical and surgical complications with skills in ultrasound-guided procedures and outpatient gynaecology. Her expertise extends to the medical management of menstrual disorders such as PCOS, endometriosis, and heavy or abnormal bleeding.
A Fellow of the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists, the Faculty of Sexual and Reproductive Healthcare, and the Faculty of Forensic and Legal Medicine at the Royal College of Physicians in London, Dr. Jawad’s credentials reflect her expertise. She completed her specialist training in London at Guys and St. Thomas NHS Foundation Trust and King's College Hospital NHS Foundation Trust.
Dr. Jawad is also the General Training Programme Director at the Faculty of Sexual and Reproductive Healthcare, a position she has held from 2019 to 2024. I saw dr ruhi jawad for an initial consultation. She was dismissive and told me I should have seen my GP instead as it would have been cheaper. I came to her with concerns and symptoms of endometriosis, including blood results that I was very anemic. She said I “didn’t look anemic” and even if I had endo there wasn’t anything they could do unless I wanted to take birth control or I should get pregnant (she knew I had been trying for almost a year). Overall I was very disappointed and upset, and left feeling very stupid. Later on I had an appointment with another consultant who was helpful (and diagnosed endo) but after I asked for a blood test to test my hormone levels, instead of telling me to return on the days that they could do this, she sent me for a blood test I hadn’t asked for (but in the confusion I agreed to it) and then had a huge bill to pay for something I didn’t need. I was then chased by their credit control to pay my bill twice, over lengthy email chains, despite having paid my bill months prior. Overall I would not recommend this clinic.
I am sorry to hear you did not have a good experience. Patients needs and welfare are my utmost priority. I always work with my patients for the best outcome and welfare.
