Mr Fevzi Shakir is a Consultant Gynaecologist specialising in Advanced Minimally Invasive Gynaecological Endoscopic Surgery. He has completed a 2-year Senior Clinical Research Fellowship in Advanced Gynaecological Endoscopic Surgery, based at the Minimal Access Therapy Training Unit (MATTU) in Guildford.
In 2014 he was elected as a council member in charge of the trainee portfolio for the British Society for Gynaecological Endoscopy (BSGE) and re-elected in 2016. He has founded a trainee group as part of the BSGE called RIGS (Registrars in Gynaecological Surgery) aiming to improve training and resources. In 2017 he was elected as a senior member of the council on the BSGE and appointed as chair of the guidelines and patient information committee.
He has presented both Nationally and Internationally on over 60 occasions, has over 20 abstract publications and several peer-reviewed publications in scientific journals, including randomised controlled trials. He has received both National and International prizes (including the prestigious Golden telescope award in 2016) & bursaries at scientific meetings on 9 occasions, for his contribution and work in minimally invasive gynaecological surgery.
He has completed an MSc in Advanced Gynaecological Endoscopy, with Merit, based at the University of Surrey.
He is part of over 15 National and International teaching faculty for endoscopic surgery and is a UK Ethicon Endosurgery, laparoscopic advanced energy advisory board member.
In 2014, he ran the London Marathon in 3 hours, 49 minutes and 21 seconds for the Endometriosis UK charity, raising £2,333.75. In 2016 and 2017, he ran the British Vitality London 10Km run again for Endometriosis UK, raising over £740 on both occasions.

Amazing doctor who put my mind at ease throughout the whole process, he made sure I had no concerns or worries heading into the procedure.

Dr Shakir was so helpful, knowledgable and caring from the very first meeting until the end. He was very responsive to any questions or concerns I had and was very helpful in explaining what my options were and what would be involved every step of the way. I had two separate procedures with Dr Shakir and both were done excellently and successfully. He truly cares for his patients and I would highly recommend him.

Mr. Shakir is truly an exceptional consultant and an amazing human being. The comfort and care he provided through my entire treatment journey was beyond what I could have asked for. He is a brilliant surgeon - my hysterectomy procedure and post-op recovery were smooth and swift - it didn’t at all feel like I had undergone a major surgery. He goes all out and puts his heart into doing the best for you. I am immensely grateful to him for this significant and meaningful change in my life (having suffered and been in pain for years!) - I honestly couldn’t have asked for anyone better!

Dr Shakir is the best consultant I have ever had. After over 20 years of seeing numerous consultants , he is at top of his game in terms of care and looking after his patients. I am so grateful to him and have referred many people to him now. He has an incredible bed side manner and his patient care is wonderful.

Just amazing, very professional, kind and genuinely provides care from his heart.
